On my blog I compare the HäT figures with some metal 28s from Old Glory and Crusader. link I've been impressed with the HäT figures. My big worry has been that they won't mix on the battlefield with metal figures. Now that I've tried it, I think they'll mix just fine. Yes, these are hard plastic. And yes, when I say "hard plastic," I mean that the plastic is the same as that used by Wargames Factory, Warlord Games, Victrix, and Perry Miniatures. I've read a few comments on TMP and elsewhere that the HäT figures are small, closer to 1/72 scale than 28mm. I hope we can put that to rest. The HäT figures are taller than almost all the 28mm figures in my collection. |

Thanks very much for the post – I was debating buying them, I think you very helpful shots have tipped me into making the purchase! |

I agree 100%, I would also add that I find the Hat figs considerably easier and faster to assemble and to paint than Perry or Victrix, and I think they look great when painted. I have even head-swapped with Victrix early French since I didn't want all my legeres in colpack or bearskins. They are more slender than Victrix but definitely not shorter. They will mix fine on the table, and you wouldn't mix them in units anyway. |

I never heard the issue was height, it has always been the proportions, i.e. thin, which Hat supporters believe is 'anatomically correct'. The other issue has been the level of detail, personally I feel that when I see HaT figures it always looks like the detail has been painted on, whether its the painting style or the detail really isn't so good I am not sure. I will say your pics looked good, I might look out for a box when I am in town next and see for myself what they are like in real life when compared to Perry and Victrix. |

Their site suggests they are not in production yet- can they be bought yet? |

They can't be bought yet. HäT's website lists them as being available 2nd quarter, 2010, and HäT usually does meet their release schedule. The figures I painted were test shots, and they had a few issues that should be fixed by final production. |

They look just fine to me on the playing board. They will work very well to bulk out any Army. I am waiting for their Plastic Austrians to finish my metal Army. Nice painting and basing. |

Compliments on your painting skills, and many thanks for providing these very useful comparisons. Looking forward now to HäT's further output in this range! |
