So I need to find something that would make a good Soviet/Russian 'interface' interceptor/fighter/strike craft, in 1/300 scale. The general background is 'real world' tech – think Winchell Chung's Project Rho, or Attack Vector: Tactical. This would be an aerodynamic craft carried on/in a larger non-aerodynamic space vessel for attacks on planetary targets, air and/or surface. Either classic 'blocky' (MiG 25) or newer 'smooth' (Su-27) style would be fine. I'm also open to other ideas, but I don't want to get too fanciful. Suggestions? |

How about this? link The look is good, and the size might be suitable for you despite the stated scale. |

I don't know offhand of a model of one, but something with a lifting body shape might fit the bill. Something along these lines: link Doug |

I'm a huge fan of Winchell's site!! I agree that the Blended Wing Body configuration seems like the most plausible for the future. I'd add that you're likely to see the vehicle be unmanned, so you can skip a cockpit. My latest interest is Transhuman Space (an RPG). The main book gives lots of detail of future military conflict. Most wars are fought with drones of various sorts. Aerospace craft aren't designed for war-fighting outside an atmosphere; instead they use orbital capability for power projection. They seem close to what you're describing. |

Ironwind Metals FT 023 and FT 028 feel 'Russian' to me. FT023 reminds me of a MiG25/31, and FT028 looks a bit like a Tu22. |

Thanks for the input, everyone. (I'd completely forgotten about IWM. That's why I ask these sort of things
