Having recently acquired some secondhand 28mm late Napoleonic British line infantry I am having difficulty identifying the manufactuerer.

I have tried via various websites/lists/eBay auctions with as yet no joy.

Perhaps I can impose upon the contributors here to help provide me with a comprehensive list of manufacturers that produce 28mm Naps allowing me to browse said websites at my leisure.

The figures are slightly larger than 28mm and the Belgic shakoes are wrapped in skins/cloth.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Thanks

Posting a pic is likely to get you the answer much faster.

So, other than Foundry and Front Rank, Perry and Victrix, no one can suggest possible 28mm manufacturers?

Thanks anyway.

I thought Elite at first, but think I'm wrong.

Gonsalvo10 Mar 2010 6:43 p.m. PST

Hinchcliff perhaps??

Other possible 28mm manufactures:
Essex
Redoubt

The weapon is incorrect. They must be from some small range that never took off.

Not certain! But they may be old Ral Partha or Heritage miniature's. If it's larger then Perry figure's that would rule out both I would think. Very curious indeed!

Sorry, no idea. But your next step could be to post a pic alongside a ruler, so we can help with suggesting possible alternatives. Look nice figures though

Based on the horsey looking face, I think that this might be a Redoubt Miniatures figure. This was not one of the companies better ranges of figures. They used the same sculptor on the AWI range. The other Redoubt ranges, done by a different sculptor, are much better.

I think they are Old Glory 25's

The base, which is not square, would seem to rule out these being Hinchliffe.

These are the figures painted up, the falling figure in the first pic is definately Foundry

The falling figure is actually Front Rank, definitely not Foundry.

Sorry, that's what I meant to type! Thanks.

Goldstar,

Just to derail the thread a bit.
What are those guys standing on? Is it a training board or mat? Purchased or home made?

I just asked because it looks spiffy.

Goldstar08 Apr 2010 11:08 a.m. PST

Amir,

It is merely a sheet of cardboard with a coating of wood glue and 'grass' sprinkled on it, a road made with my fingers and sand sprinkled on it.

Just for photos really, not wargaming.

Goldstar,
My guess would be Lancashire Games- particularly if they're 'big' 25/28's

I doubt that they're Old Glory.

If they're kinda chunky they might be Redoubt. Otherwise I'm stumped.
