I've got a few of those sets
somewhere. The minis are 25mm. They're pretty good too. |
JRacel | 09 Mar 2010 8:16 p.m. PST |
Dan, I have those (I think) thanks to cloudcaptain. Remind me to find them and take you a few pictures. Feel free to suggest what minis you need in the picture. Jeff |

Jeff, Ooo, awesome!!! Maybe a picture or two with some Critical Mass Games Recon troops or some GZG UNSC Light Infantry (or something like them). Thanks. Dan |

The figs are Micro Machines. They are not 25mm. More like 18-20mm tops. I own 100's of them. Thanks, John |

John, So the terrain pieces should work for 15mm, right? Thanks. Dan |
JRacel | 09 Mar 2010 9:09 p.m. PST |
Dan, I just posted the pictures as requested. I only have pieces of a few sets and nothing complete, but should help with the size. I included some Critical Mass Recon Troops in the pictures. The fuzzy things with teeth are War Haggises from Black Hat Miniatures ( link ). My wife was here when I saw your post and decided to add the Haggises into the pictures. They are some of her favorite critters and were painted to her specifications so the fact they were in reach caused them to be included (my attempt to remove them was rebuffed). Hope the pictures help. Link: link Jeff |

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Those things look awesome as 15mm terrain pieces. Must get my hands on some one of these days. Thanks a million, Jeff! Dan |

Yeah, they'll work for 15mm. No problem. |

Not to be a spoiler here, but the Micro Collection came out in the 80's. It is not to be confused with micro machines, which came out in the 90's. The Micro Collection figures are metal, die cast figures and are in scale with the WOTC Collectible Plastics, so they are 28mm or so. I found this out the hard way in my D6 Star Wars days, and these cool figures towered over my WEG true 25mm. The plastic playsets, OTOH, with some minor mods, will work for any figure from 15mm to 28mm. The old Micro Machines plastic characters are in fact 20mm or so, and this might be a common confusion givent eh similarity in line names. I own many of both lines. They are well worth it if you can find them, and pop up on eBay often. |

Way too big for 15mm. Maybe best with larger 28-30mm. Some of the figures work fine with WEG 25mm. Some of the terrrain bits are great for this scale. Comparison of Micro Collection metal figures to 25mm WEG figures: link |

yep what kingkaiju and Jake B said. They are a good fit for 20mm and 25mm, pushing it for 28mm and a bit big for 15mm; depends how fussy you are |

Most of the Micro Collection figures are bigger than 25mm. I wouldn't think of using them with 20mm. Use them with 25-30mm if you are tolerant of some size variations. The smaller type Micro Machines are closer to 20mm I believe. Micro Machines Action Fleet were very close match for WEG 25mm figure height, just slimmer and more stiffly posed. |

Well, I'll soon find out. I just bought this for 99 cents! auction Dan |

I did not look closely. Those are the larger figs. They'd work for 25mm Stargrunt figs. Not sure about 15mm. Sorry. |

Hay, I'll chime in on this, as I actually own them and have gamed them. They have NOTHING to do with with the 1990s MicroFleet, these are the Micro Collection from the 80s. In short, they work but are imperfect, figure bases like we use don't really fit. They look good on the table and are, ya know, real Star Wars, so they get points for that. The figures are true, old-school 25mm -- slightly smaller than WotC Star Wars stuff. jhonpog had it about right: "They are a good fit for 20mm and 25mm, pushing it for 28mm and a bit big for 15mm; depends how fussy you are" |

LOL!!! Well, if the floors are too low for 15mm, maybe I could try to raise them somehow. Dan |
Jake B | 11 Mar 2010 1:39 p.m. PST |
The floors and walls will look OK with 15mm. Any control panels on the walls may be over your figures' heads. The doors should look like tall garage doors, so call them cargo loading doors. FWIW a standing Micro Collection snowtrooper measures exactly 30mm to the eyes and 33mm to the top of his helmet, measured from where the boot meets the base. |
