thank you but no thank you
I will pass. |

Don't think it's a mosasaur, CC ? Looks like a T Rex head and skin grafted onto a shark ? Shoulda' just used a mosasaur like Primeval <chuckle> |
McKinstry | 08 Mar 2010 9:56 p.m. PST |
Hah I say, double hah hah. While Dinoshark will doubtless be yet another sucky, made for Syfy CGI stinker, it doesn't seem, at least from the promos, to come within a light year of the zenith (or is it nadir?) of suckitude that SS Doomtrooper or Mansquito or War of the Worlds Syfy style achieved. |

I love all that SyFy cheese
At least it's not wrestling! |

Impala: "Why do I always miss the cool movies?" You're in luck then. Dinoshark premiers March 13, according to this: link Dan |

So how will Dinoshark fare vs. The Sharktopus? |
| Alxbates | 09 Mar 2010 7:35 a.m. PST |
Dinoshark will make love to the Sharktopus and have several love children – OctoDinoShark, SharktoDinoPus, Dinoctoshark, and Fluffy. Fluffy is the dangerous one – she's ed off about her silly name. |

Like the rash of giant snake movies a few years back. I wonder if Sci Fi..er SyFy Channel will have a rash of giant shark-like monster movies just to get their money's worth out of the CGI models. |

Can't those idjots over at the SyFy Channel, just get some old SF and monster movies? Even showing "Attack Of The Giant Gila Monster" or "The Green Slime" would be many times better than the CGI tripe that makes up the usual "SyFy Original" movies!! Some good old Kaiju movies, 50's and 60's SF/monster flics, toss in some Allen/Anderson T.V. shows, various Star Treks, a teensy bit of GOOD anime, have "Classic Specials" featuring movies like "Forbidden Planet" or "Metropolis", and even stuff like "Genesis 2"
would make for a far better network! Heck, showing the "Starhunter" T.V. series would be better and yea, if I was the programing director I'd put it into rotation!! I even miss those specials that premired SF/Horror short films made by budding filmakers!! Sigh
but alas, we get poorly done CGI krap and wrestling. "The "SyFy" fans will suck it up!!" is their thinking. Don't even get me started on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim". |

I hope it's as funny as the trailer. You know, if they just let go and started producing these things as comedies, they could really go somewhere

Who is the people out there that back the making these things? Check out a bad film on Netflix 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I don't know if that's ever been on Syfy, but it looked like their kind of movie. |

I think you're meant to watch in with tongue firmly planted in cheek
Or heavily inebriated
There's this sad rule from the straight-to-cable era: If you can convince the TV channel to drop a million bucks to air your movie, you at least break even. If you can sucker them for more, that's all profit for the producer. I even miss those specials that premired SF/Horror short films made by budding filmakers!! It pains me to say this, but Dinoshark *is* one of those, I think

Nope, not a mosasaur. Just something they made up. And all it can do is take down a helicopter? Wimp
Check this out: YouTube link Unrealistic you say? No! It is based on science I tell you! Science!!!! link |

I am truly believing that the folks at "SyFy" (Oh how I hate to type that or even say it that way) think if the masses can eat up all the fake as all can be wrestling, then they'll eat up anything, and the cheaper the better, fill up that air time. |

Roger Corman is really cranking them out these days. Well, when did he not? The difference is now that he is playing up the camp, whereas the camp used to just come naturally. Too bad there wasn't more camp. My two sons and I settled in after our weekly dinner out on Saturday night to watch the latest stinker, and it was dullness with fins. Then we watched "Dinocroc," which, with its attempt to emote, was virtually unwatchable. We watched anyway. My older son, who is 12, went the distance and we played the game of trying to predict things that were going to happen in advance, to see who could predict first. The instant he saw the final scene was near train tracks he called how dinocroc would be defeated. Pretty impressive for a 12 year old. |

Way back when maybe over 10 years if not longer Sci-Fi Channel was good to watch, they showed some Godzilla films if i'm not mistaken and many other good things. But nowadays Sci-Fi Channel is MEGA CRAP plain and simple. Captain Gideon |
