Picked up the ultra nice Modern German figs from Eureka USA and was looking for ideas for a OpFor in the same scale. The Eureka figs are smallish, I'd call it 'true 28mm", and the Eureka Soviets in NBC suits just don't do it for me.

Any thoughts?

Their Masori(sp?) are pretty generic. Same "smallish" scale. You could always do some kind of UN mission into the South East Asian theatre.

I had purchased 3 packs of them for the 2 USMC squads from Eureka, but just found them all too small. Beautiful figs though

The Bundeswehr has troops in Afghanistan, so maybe you could use Eureka's Taliban?

Grey Ronin06 Mar 2010 11:31 p.m. PST

TAG Modern Russians are a very good match. I have both Eureka Bundeswher and TAG and they size up nicely.

Eureaka also have Modern French coming out "soon"

I have both as well and second Grey Ronin's assessment.

Those FFL look great……hmmm….i was thinking about 20mm but these are tempting…

'Musorians' = generic low tech. insurgents with mainly SovBlock equipment. From the Australian Army's standard OpFor plans.

Shameless plug, but maybe chinese PLA would work?

I seem to remember the Musorians as being smaller than the other Eureka figs. I really love the Chinese, but again they look too small.

My first suggestion would be the Eureka Taliban followed by Mongrel Minis, but they are in an unkown state right now. TAG and MoFo would be my second suggestion.

I have the PLA and whilst they are beautiful minis and are an excellent match for the Eureka Modern Aussies and USMC in Iraq, they are your true 25s and not playable with the like sof TAG, Eureka Bundeswher or Foundry…. excellent for Op Flashpoint PC game to table top transfer tho!

Will any of the Eureka French be wearing helmets?

GeoffQRF08 Mar 2010 11:23 a.m. PST

My 15mm modern French will be :-)

Bit much using them as opfor against the Germans though…

Wow – Thanks all.

The French look suitable – if/when they come out, and those PLA look nice. Shame they're small.
I thought about D&P Italians, as well as TAG Modern Russians. No crew served weapons though. Any one know the state of the Devil Dog Design line?

At this point, I guessing I'll default to the Eureka Talibs when the time comes.

Thanks again.

Slim 28's to look "more asian", not 25mm :)

No idea about the Devil dog design stuff, i'd love to see if they are available somewhere, need more VDV :D

The Eureka French will be released in helmets with extra webbing, as well as the beret wearing versions we have on the web site.
Kosta is hard at work on some Pulp WW2 at the moment, but I hope we will have the French completed in the next couple of months.
