I've seen lots of Special Forces v Taliban – anyone do ANA?

GeoffQRF06 Mar 2010 4:00 a.m. PST

In what scale?

A Badger06 Mar 2010 4:16 a.m. PST

28mm

GeoffQRF06 Mar 2010 5:42 a.m. PST

Ah, can't help you there then. I have a pack being produced but they are in 15mm so will look a bit short (unless you always stand them at the edge of the table, in which case they will just look far away)

von Paulus06 Mar 2010 6:01 a.m. PST

Mongrel did/does DRA but I don't know if you can still get them or not. Maybe Empress will do ANA as part of their new 28mm moderns range?

Take a look at sets 15 and 16 here

From the first photo on this site mod.gov.af they may work for you.

Heh. I was gonna write Stan Johansen – but Stan beat me too it!

Stan makes nice stuff.

The Warrior Pole06 Mar 2010 7:40 p.m. PST

Wow, if Stan was to reproduce those sets in 20mm, I'd finally be able to do ANA, and with a bit of converting, Polish soldiers too!

Those would work, as would any 90s US regulars as the ANA are fielding more US weapons M16A2s,SAWs, 240s. They also wear temperate BDUs instead of desert and usualy wear berets. Helmets were hit or miss and varied from old soviet style to Kevlars without covers. The DRA minis would work for ANP as they still wear this uniform. Vehicles are mostly four door ford rangers, and international 7.5 tons, however again they are begining to field humvees.

I am also in the market for some 28mm ANA amoungst other bits.
Sadly Mongrel Miniatures seem to have died a complete death. No one seems to have heard from the guy who owns it in months. I can only hope they reappear soon or someone starts to do some similar stuff. Kicking my self as I held off buying some a few times as I hunted for a rules system. That will teach me.

Their figures were stunning too.

You could try looking at the Eureka 100 club, if there was enough interest.
