After some pretty intense playesting with our forthcoming Vietnam rules I have put an update on the Lard Island News blog with an AAR and some photos illustrating the game in play.

For more details see Lard Island News at:

Just like the real thing, I don't see a single VC or any other figure for that matter.

VCarter. The image that I used was one of the table set up before the game began. I then kept that photo and put on the arrows and what have you in order to illustrate the various phases of the game. It seemed more clear to me than rutting random snaps of figures moving about.

Would the "rutting random snaps" have anything to do with Panda's trip to the Reeperbahn and the goat incident?

As I thought, however, I alway like to see the figures.

Is this for 15mm with FOW bases?

dwight shrute04 Mar 2010 3:14 p.m. PST

will it be stand alone … or will i have to buy other TFL products to play the game ?? …. looks really good so far … !!

Last Hussar04 Mar 2010 5:41 p.m. PST

Dwight, you need to buy a number of other products, chiefly a pie and a pint. Then another pint.

SheriffLee – it certainly will work with 15mm and FOW bases. You can use any basing system that you like, and whilst we certainly play in 15mm, the rules are scaled for anything between 10mm and 20mm figures.

Dwight – Charlie Don't Surf will be a completely stand-alone rule set. We'll have a scenario supplement available as well, but you won't need any other products.

And some of us will figure it out for 3mm too! (and probably someone will try for 6mm)

CDS smells like victory to me.
