Mixing GS with a little supersculpey makes a brilliant sculpting medium- it still feathers late into its drying time- yet retains a most of the GS memory and most of the stickiness. The resulting mix dries a little softer than GS if left to dry at room temp, but heated in a mini lamp oven has a similar hardness as a pure GS model. All good so far. So the question is can this mix withstand vulcanization? Has anyone experimented with this, or would be willing to throw a few balls (4:1,2:1,1:1)of the stuff into their next mould as a test? Thanks in advance! |

I have never thought of this! I wonder if it works with Procreate

I've used it for a couple of pieces I've had molded and cast and it worked just fine. Haven't tried it with pro-create. Rod |

it may well vulcanise in these low temp silicone rubbers, (very low pressure as well) but might not withstand the pressure in the black organic rubber moulds. i would be willing to try it, as long as it is not too big an item. |

Send me the samples and I'll pop them in a mould for you. Nic EUREKA MINIATURES |

Thanks everyone. I have the equipment to make molds (I make jewelry) but I'm afraid to use the GS with my higher temp rubber. I'm not sure what temps GS starts to break down and crumble. I prefer the higher temp rubber because it's stronger. Nic, what kind of rubber do you use? The black 'disk' rubber looks fairly soft what temp does that melt at? Thanks! Craig |
