Hi all,
I've posted up some pictures of my new AK-47 Army (which is actually a navy) on my Blog. Feedback always welcome.

Cheers Jon

Nice minis. Your shores shall be safe from those Bongolesian invaders.

Very Nice!

@Kyoteblue: it's a 15mm army, like all "proper" AK-47 armies (ducks)

Redroom02 Mar 2010 6:51 p.m. PST

Now a regional sea power

Very nice. The Airfix pontoon conversions look good. Thanks for posting, I've been thinking about the AK-47 navy idea too but wanted to see some examples to get an idea for the structure. As you say in the Blog defending would be the tricky part. I hadn't thought of using the artilley rules from the supplement but it sounds like a good idea. Best of luck with the new navy.

What scale/size are these again???

15mm, the PT boat is 1/110 scale kit and the jet patrol boat is 1/130 scale.

Thanks for the comments guys.

That's the trouble with AK 47 armies. You can't just stop at one!!

nvdoyle03 Mar 2010 5:51 a.m. PST

That's very inspiring! I'll have to hunt up some appropriate boats…

Great job!!

A tremendous job!

Now, creators of Lace Wars Imagi-Nations have in the Emperor vs Elector collective blog emperor-elector.blogspot.com "a genial location for imaginary nations of the Eighteenth Century to carry out diplomatic affairs . . .". The blog currently has 77 contributors representing some 115 fictional 18th C. countries.
Actually each solo wargamer (or local group) carries on his campaign independantly, yet 'EvE' is more than a board to post -already enoyable, inspirational and stimulating- 'flashnews from our Country': i>interactions may, for those wishing so, go further: link

What about a similar "League" for the 'post USSR' imaginary countries -probably restricted neither to a Continent nor to a set of rules (e.g. 15mm-prussia.blogspot.com )?

Mooseworks803 Mar 2010 10:04 a.m. PST

cool stuff. I would certainly put Prussia in a collective or confederation blog of break-away Russian republics or just moderns period.

This would be a cool AK-47 army on a table with a long river that snaked about the whole board….meandering to and fro with sharp bends….

An excellent addition to army possibilities.
