Since muti-part plastic sets are clearly the way of the future for 40k, what sets are crying out to be done next? *Poll note: This poll will be strictly for infantry sets although I am including 1 vehicle option that def needs a plastic (affordable) set. 1) Re-due an existing Imperial Guard Regiment (Mordian, Steel Legion, Voystrans, etc
) 2) A brand new Imperial Guard Regiment (Elysians, Geno 5-2 Chiliad, Luther Blacks, etc
) 3) Slann (yikes) 4) Squats! (or whatever they call them, I'm old school), 5) Re-due Eldar Guardians 6) Nurgle Plague Marines 7) Chaos Cultists 8) Imperial Custodes 9) Adept Mechanicus troops (enforcers, skitarrii, dark mechanicus, etc
.) 10) A character box (to make Rogue Traders, assassins, Inquisitors, etc
), 11) A plastic command set (Chapter commander, company commander, apothecary, librarian, tech-marine, etc
) 12) Other plastic boxed set. 13) A plastic (affordable) Marine Thunderhawk drop/gunship set. 14) Imperial Knight plastic set (remember these guys? Mini-titans!) 15) Adeptus Arbites! (Every SF world needs cops!) 16) Re-due those damn Orks! 17) Feral orks! 19) Mutants! 20) A large box of weapons (small arms, etc
) to pimp out my existing plastic sets! 21) Rogue Trader era ROBOTS (nuff said!) 22) Old school support weapons done in plastic (Tarantuala, rapiers, and thudd guns!). Thanks for playing! Oh, for me? Robots & Nurgle plague marines are a must, followed by the Tunderhawk set. |

#4 done as #1 Then #13 at the $90 USD price point |

Remember that anything they make has to be made desirable by rules changes. I'd say an Imperial Guard Veterans box with some form of "generic space fightin' human" armored jumpsuit torsos and conversion sprues for -Traitor Guardsmen usable by Chaos as cultists or allies
lots of gas mask heads, tentacle/serpent legs, Akira meatwad arm with integrated gigundogun, -A spacefaring set of heads and arms with full helmets, so you can feed your genestealers up on "the hulk" without endangering marines. Now you've got a set with a few uses. If they re-deux the space ork sprues again, I'm going to copyright the color green. Those miserable fungiform marauders have gotten more sculpting dedicated to them than most any other non space marine faction. I'll grant that you have to have a binload of them to match points with any other force, but really
Enough for a while! |

Good call on traitor guard Pygmalion. Consider them added them to the choices. |

I'd like some Slann please! |
Greg B | 02 Mar 2010 1:57 p.m. PST |
I'm with #1 and #16. Who knows what will happen? Fun to play the guessing game though :) |

|

To elaborate and threadjack: The Orcs have the old school 2nd edition models, the Gorkamorka line, the multipart plastic, the black reach orcs, and more conversion sprues than The emperor has liver spots. Oh, AND there are fantasy kits that cross over like nobody's business. I've got nothing against orcs, and I know that it's a popular starter army
but for criminey's sake, they've got more variety than Tzeneech's lonely hearts ad
make plastic boxed sets and conversion bits for some OTHER swarm army. |
richarDISNEY | 02 Mar 2010 4:01 p.m. PST |
Well, serioulsy, Bringing back the Slann and the Space Dwarves would be a great addition to the game. And they did mention in a White Dwarf not too long ago, that they were going to introduce a new race/army into the 40k-iverse

Why do the Eldar Guardians need a re-do? They're perfectly fine as they are, one of the better 40K plastic kits IMHO. Damon. |
Battle Phlox | 02 Mar 2010 4:28 p.m. PST |
I'd like to see #1 or #2, but odds are they will do #5. I'd sell crack to get #4, but sadly the Squats are very dead. :( |
mweaver | 02 Mar 2010 4:35 p.m. PST |
What I would like to see it plastic Tallarn IG. |
ming31 | 02 Mar 2010 4:55 p.m. PST |
Space rats with guns Modular not like the newest ons . |
Uesugi Kenshin | 02 Mar 2010 6:12 p.m. PST |
"Why do the Eldar Guardians need a re-do?" I'd seen some Eldar fans who were not happy with them Damon. My only niggle is they did not include pieces for Storm Guardians. "I'd sell crack to get #4" Lmao
|
Garand | 02 Mar 2010 6:42 p.m. PST |
Well speaking for myself, as an Eldar fan (it is my single oldest 40K army), I think they're crazy. I regularly use their heads to replace the ones on the Guardian Jetbikes. An easy and very attractive conversion. You used to be able to get the Storm Guardian sprues from 2e some time ago. Too bad you cannot anymore, but then I see no real reason to take Storm Guardians as it is
Damon. |

Scan the various army books and codexes for Core/Troop choices that are still in metal. Those will probably be first. Then move to Special/Heavy Support/Fast Attack, and finally to Rare/Character/Elite/Command. Now exempt named characters and models that no one will ever need more than one of. Move half of the models for the next arriving book to the top of the list. Scatter the remaining models randomly across the rest of the priority list. Make a Luck save vs "Direct Order Only" status for all models, on a unit-by-unit basis. For most units this will be a 2+, with one reroll per army. For those units with the "Author included them under duress" special rule, the save is a 5+. |

"What I would like to see it plastic Tallarn IG." Now although I have never been interested in the "Tallarn" per-say, I would be interested in using them as generic Desert looking traitor guard, like in the Alpha legion Horus Hersey book. |

Could this foreshadow things to come (ie. #6)? picture |
Goldwyrm | 06 Mar 2010 8:00 a.m. PST |
Slann, Squats, Adeptus Arbites, Characters, Adeptus Mechanicus, Robots, and Support Weapons. Because I'm old school, I'd add: 24) Death World Flora and Fauna 25) Miners, Gangs, Mercs, and Slavers of Logan's World 26) Renegade Zoats But honestly, I'd want to see all those things in metal rather than plastic, with perhaps the exception of the robots. |
Baconfat | 06 Mar 2010 9:05 p.m. PST |
21) Robotx 27) Imperial Guard Speeders 28) Rapier Laser Destroyers 29) Human Bombs 30) Penal troopers 31) Imperial Beastmen 32) Squats, but not like the later versions that were all fantasy style with long beards and Viking art. |
Uesugi Kenshin | 07 Mar 2010 1:45 p.m. PST |
"27) Imperial Guard Speeders" Owww, good call! I just saw the Epic ones the other day and it reminded me that the guard once had Speeders, Jump troops, and Dreadnoughts!
