According to a letter to William Siborne quoted in Hoffy's "Wellington's Smallest Victory", an officer who was at Waterloo told Siborne that the Hanoverians wore British style backpacks painted yellow. I've never heard or seen this anywhere else but it's a helluva source. Is it correct? What does the panel think? |

Bear in mind this may be simply what we would call "ochre" and so would not be as outlandish as it sounds. |

I was under the impression that it was only the Landwehr Bns. that had the 'yellow' backpacks. link |
