The game not the mental illness :) I guess it would greatly depend on your version of Paranoia, but in general what miniatures do or would you use? For troubleshooters? Thanks |
infojunky | 22 Feb 2010 5:42 p.m. PST |
I would start with a mix of figures from 15mmUK and Ground Zero Games. |

Why are you asking me? Seriously. How much do you know? |

I liked the original Games Workshop plastic Imperial Guard for Paranoia types. Rich |

In 28mm, if you can't find any of the old (Citadel) or new (Mongoose) minis (and they definitely are not easy to come by), I think I'd go with the Heresy Inspectors: link I like the mix of genders, ages, and builds, and the faces are very characterful. There are actually some of the Citadel and Mongoose Paranoia minis on Ebay right now: auction |

I wouldn't use any miniatures
I'm pretty sure they are out to get me. |

All of you need to report to the re-education center. The computer is your friend. |

I have a few of the Grenadier ones. But they aren't all that useful when your first clone dies during the mission briefing and it all goes downhill from there. |

Well, I have the Citadel figures, but in keeping with Paranoia tradition I usually do something wacky. Use random 1" figures from a gumball machine, when a player asks why they are a penguin call in the next clone. First player to forget which one is theirs, call in a clone time (there is a reason they give you 6). Or, print out sillouettes with FORBIDDEN IMAGE across them and mount to bases. Heck, just write FORBIDDEN IMAGE across your mat. In the end figures and a game map are just to static for Paranoia. |

If you can't find any of the great suggestions above, you could go with GZG 25mm figures. I've used the SGQ-02 Generic crewman, tech etc,. in fatigues and cap, advancing with pistol and small case in left hand (painted red of course) for the players and Hammer Slammer figures with full closed faceshield for the security forces the trouble shooters end up fighting. Then there are all the robots from Mega Miniatures that work well also. The starship crew from MM would also make good trouleshooters. |

If you're talking about 28mm, I'd check out Copplestone. He has enough variety that you ought to be able to find something to fit your needs. |

I have the Mongoose troubleshooters box and they are great minis! |

For some reason the Star Wars collectibles seem to strike the right chord with me. After all they will die before moving two inches so why put a lot of time painting into them. |

Paranoia is a pretty eye opening game ehh
I don't think you need miniatures, but
Almost any miniature will do I would get the Not Star Trek like figures from victory force for your trouble shooters. Then maybe some Armored type figures for computer goons. Civilian type figures for infrareds. Punk like figures for the secret society type combatants. Maybe soviets for the communists or modern militia. Guys with crazy big guns because you never know. And a great big tank HUGE big tank If you get the classic paranoia adventure book 1 you will know what I mean. I am talking NOT ogre big. Remember happiness is mandatory, the computer is always your friend, and keep your laser handy! Welcome to the best RPG ever made. |
MahanMan | 23 Feb 2010 1:01 a.m. PST |
That does it. I *need* a T-shirt that says "Aren't you glad you have a laser too? Won't this be fun?" to wear at work, along with The Computer's benevolent eye on the back. |

1/72 Plastic WW2 Russians. sort them out into 6 of each pose, and when the clone dies, 'Kill' the figure with a blowtorch / hand-held shredder / Hammer / Secateurs / lit cigar Pat |
WeeSparky | 23 Feb 2010 2:30 p.m. PST |
Also, have a large Balrog/demon type fig held in reserve to make the players nervous. |
FredNoris | 23 Feb 2010 3:05 p.m. PST |
Use miniatures that make you happy.Failure to be happy is punishable by summary execution. |
