I was reading in an old military magazine from the 90s that there were 4000 surplus T34s sitting in a lot outside Budapest, for sale.
I have never seen this before. Any truth to it?

What other tanks are available?

Not that I am planning to invade anybody… grin

There were some old StuGs and Comets auctioned by the Finnish military a few years ago.

Kaoschallenged21 Feb 2010 2:35 p.m. PST

There were those M3 Stuarts in South America some time ago. And the PZIVs and StuGs from Bulgaria too. Robert

This thread is why I once asked for a one minute grace period to edit your titles. grin

Stuarts are going for about a quarter million, Shermans for half a million.

Mostly post-war stuff, but at least one Stuart and one Hellcat.

As a fashion statement, a Stuart beats a Hummer any day of the week.

This site is an attempt to list, with a photo, every surviving WWI and WWII tank.

Some AFV's, such as the Sherman and the T-34/85 are currently not included, because there are so many of them.

Some armored cars are included.

I guess the simple answer is lots – I drive by a Sherman Firefly twice a week that still works!

Cool.

For a brief period of time, the Macedonian Army was selling surplus T-34's for $10,000 each. I briefly considered it, but transportation is the real problem…

With all the M4 Shermans and T-34/85s constructed during the war … they can be found a lot of places. Especially in the Middle East and even Africa …

They must have been left out of the Osprey that also left out Alexander's pikes!

Always wanted a White Scout Car. You can register them as any other wheeled vehicle and drive them on the streets.

Although not much armor, you won't have to worry about damage in 'fender bender's' as it is still more steel than any care on the road today.

Chris Pz Tp that is one of the coolest sites. Just got marked in my favorites.

I've heard that the British Army bought a load of T34s off the Czechs for use as hard targets because they got them cheaper than they could fabricate something out of boilerplate.
