Just painted up a group of Crusader gladiators, and I like them very much. I want more variety, but I'm not sure what miniature lines go well with Crusader. Foundry looks good, but are there others? Old Glory? I'm not good at judging proportions from photos on websites.

Thanks

Foundry are a very good match indeed for Crusader, but they are the only other gladiator range I own, so I can't comment on the others. These are a mix of the two ranges:

The Foundry ones do work well – I have a lot of them – far too many unpainted and redundant also.

It's a range from before Foundry went to Bleeped text

The old glory stuff "gladiator wars" are a little thin of build compared to foundry and crusader but they work if that doesn't bother you. Someone picked up the old Gladiator line as well but they are not very good sculpts… although I put several to use as dead gladiators. Pushed down into a lying position the sculpting details aren't as important.

There was also a box set of Gladiators put out around the early 1990's that work well but I can't remember the manufacteror. Came with about a dozen figures.

Thanks -- I'm not fond of the combinations found in the Foundry sets, but now that I've seen Simon's photo, I'm confident in buying the packs.

The Gladiator Wars sculpts looked a bit off to me, but I wasn't sure if it was the photography or the minis.

Thanks again. Very helpful.
