Is Shieldwall completely kaput? If so, has anyone picked up the MJ Falklands 15mm range from them? I'd like to flesh out my British & Argentine forces. Thanks!

They closed down due to family issues I believe

I did email them about their not-Stargate figures but got no reply

I have some of the falklands stuff left over half painted.
What are you after???

GeoffQRF09 Feb 2010 7:44 a.m. PST

To the best of my knowledge, no-one has picked up the moulds and the line is no longer available

Thanks. That's no good. Looking for Paras, RMs, Argentine infantry (including in foxholes), scimitars, panhards, etc. Le_coq_fou at yah00 d0t com

Now you know I can sell you Scimitars and Scorpions :-)

If someone can just show me how to make the time, I can produce you new 1980s Brits with SLRs too…

It's really quite simple Geoff, just drop all other things, including eating and sleeping, to focus on the top priority project, e.g. Falklands troops with SLR's.

You know the 30th anniversary of the conflict is rapidly approaching, so it is probably now, or never.

;-)

GeoffQRF09 Feb 2010 12:14 p.m. PST

Ah, but traditionally, and in our regular experience, wargamers start gaming a period about 2-5 years after any major anniversary. ;-)

Top Gun Ace09 Feb 2010 1:26 p.m. PST

So, you're saying we'll have to wait until the 40th anniversary then?

I may not be able to see well enough to paint the minis at that time, so they will need to be re-scaled to 48mm (yes, yet another miniatures scale), or larger figs.

;-)

GeoffQRF10 Feb 2010 4:21 a.m. PST

With the way some companies creep their scales, 15mm will be 48mm by then :-D

Geoff, have you thought of inquiring about purchasing the molds from Shieldwall? I'm sure it would be worth while ;)

GeoffQRF10 Feb 2010 11:13 p.m. PST

I did make enquiries. I never got any response.

I would love to see them released again.

I have some of them, and they are quite nice. I imagine with a more reliable distribution channel, they would sell quite well.
