Hi guys, I found this storage solution. I reckon that each can store 2000 to 3000 28mm figures. olicanalad.blogspot.com |

That's not nearly big enough to store even a quarter of my stuff. A "figure display solution" not a "figure storage solution". Or you could call it a display cabinet. |

Hi Derek – buy five then! The capacity at 6 inches height per shelf (that would be 11 shelves rather than 8 to 10 shelves per cabinet I plan on using) working on a 2.5cm square base per figure, means that you can store 5000 28mm figures in a cabinet. Now your collection may be large, possibly even larger than my own, but I can't imagine how you manage a greater density of storage; as their are so few box sides, and no lids, etc. with a cabinet. You can also find everything. I'm lucky in having an 18 by 15 foot wargame room to put the cabinets. Perhaps your problem is not having a big enough house / wargames room. ?. |

Billy Bookcases from Ikea are not as sharp looking as Olicana's suggestion, but with glass shelves and glass doors are a bit more affordable. Beware though, the doors will interfere with the density of shelves. And as Derek points out, this is a display solution, not a storage solution. I can pack a lot more minis in a lot more spaces in storage boxes. I've got a wall of five Billy's for books and display. |

When my kids finally leave home (15-20 years from now) I'll convert a bedroom into a games room. Until then fancy display cabinets are out of the question. I keep hinting we should get rid of the Piano but I know its a lost cause. These cabinets look great but I suspect many gamers are in my position. Dream on! BigLee Blog link |

Olicana Top notch on the paint jobs, especially the Celts, and nice to see painted shields instead of transfers. Is this a personal choice or are the shield designs that are available not to your liking

I was tempted a couple of months ago to buy the vertical display units that were being sold by a jewelry store going out of business. Nice, big wood and glass units in good shape with very good lighting. $700 USD bucks each. Would have been $2500+ original. Moving the s into the house and then finding a place in the house would have been a challenge. |

"That will be enough to store six thousand more figures. My figure storage problem, for the next ten or so years is solved!" That's a bit optimistic don't you think?:) |

This is great. 11 in stock at my local IKEA store. Now to just overcome the $350 USD price tag :( I want to "store" my figures on "display" instead of packed in boxes. I hardly ever get to see them. Every month, I open all the boxes of some particular era to reacquaint myself with them. So many figures, so little time! |
