It is a pretty cool site with some neat pics of ships of the period. I don't have a boat but it would be neat to paint one in similar colour schemes if I did.

I'm probably too lazy though.

Nice!

Unfortunately the U-boats quickly spoiled the game by cancelling out a lot of the effect with cloured filters on their periscopes. The patterns were retained but in boring old black , white and grey.

If it was the 60s are you sure they were really painted? :)

I painted up some stuff years ago using Dazzle Camo and caught a world of flak over it. The effect can look ok, I believe, on a display model, but on the table the effect makes ships look like amorphous blobs of color ruining some of the visual appeal of the game. I have to admit I wasn't satisfied with the look once it hit the table, but my opponents were seriously put-out by it. I stripped the fleet and repainted them…minus one ship that I have stored around here someplace as a reminder of my folly (so many wasted hours).

I've done my Uncharted Seas orc vessels in dazzle and green decks because I liked the look on WWI ships – albeit a purely black white and grey motif
