As a reminder, to those of you who may have missed it, we are having a little painting contest for our new range of Grav Armor, and would like feedback on the categories listed below. Feel free to suggest others, if you can think of any you would prefer to see for our miniatures, instead. The submission deadline is midnight, PST, Feb. 10th.

Submissions for alternate categories can be posted here, or sent to me directly via e-mail, at the address below.

We have seven categories for entries:

1. best combat action photo on the tabletop, using 15mm Topgun Grav Armored vehicles (hint – no dice, rulers, rulebooks, soda/beer cans, or other distracting items in the photos please). Staged photos are fine. Vehicles and infantry from other manufacturers may be included in a supporting role, but of course we prefer our vehicles to be prominent and well represented in the photos);

2. best painted platoon (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);

3. best painted vehicle (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);

4. best looking clean-hulled grav vehicle (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);

5. most attractive and unique paint scheme (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);

6. people's choice for best painted vehicle(s) (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor), and a poll will be run to select the winner; and

7. the best vehicle with custom additions, modifications, conversions, etc., for good measure (note – adding competitor's hardware is right out (not acceptable) – you must create your own items from scratch, or from other scavenged parts, not from Sci-Fi vehicle detailing parts from others).

The "Clean-Hulled" models appear to be perfect for this, but of course you can use any of our models desired.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions, and we'll finalize the categories in the next few days (submission deadline of Feb. 10th), but may have to drop some others, if your suggestions are better than the ones I've proposed, since I want to keep it to seven prize categories total.

Soon as mine arrive I'll get Painting, Rob!

Only two days to the submission deadline, the categories still aren't set in stone, and unless I missed something neither were the prizes? No good for me. 9 days from your initial announcement was too tight to begin with – figure two to three days minimum for an order to arrive, and then painting and conversion time for contest-quality work. The only way to do that would be to have bought one of the models in advance of the announcement, or to order right away and put everything else on hold once the mini arrived.

Too nebulous, too rushed. Pity, I had a cute idea for a converted action piece.

Whups, mis-read the deadline. Thought it was Mar 10. Oh well, guess I WON'T be entering! LOL

the evil morlab08 Feb 2010 8:29 a.m. PST

yes, we know this is a promotion for your models, you don't really need to shove it down our throats in the description of EVERY SINGLE category.

Oh cut him some slack, he wasn't shoving it down our throats, just establishing the rules clearly.

The deadline of Feb 10th is only for the final selection of the contest categories, not completing the models, painting them, and submitting the photos. ;-)

The submission deadline for photos is March 31st, 2010, so you still have about seven weeks to enter.

You all aren't the first to jump to that conclusion though.
