Hi all, I am seeking a Four Horse chariot for Mithradates to drive for my Pontus army for WAB.

The horses must have comparrissons and possibly feathers and other decoration on the bridle, head armour would be handy also.

Not worried about a driver

I also would like a sythed chariot, I have thought about the Eureka Assyrian one

Have thought about a scratch build, does anybody have some ideas

cheers

Go to my website and look at the Persian catalog. You'll see a painted version of Darius' chariot. There is also a scythed version available.
Let's see if I can add the link…

OK, it worked. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page. It is a four horsed chariot with or w/o the driver, as you please. The kit comes with green stuff putty if you want to do any add ons or scratch work.

The Eureka Assyrian chariot is NOT scythed.

I do not know of any site that has comparisons of chariot horses.

JJartist's article on building Darius's royal chariot does offer some pictures of various Vendel models, and shows how he combined parts from various manufacturers:

I have quite a few of 1st Corps' Persian chariot for my Seleucids and Kappadokians, and like them:

We should have the Seleucid 4 horse sythed chariot ready in a few weeks. Similar to the persian but with more plumes.

Matt

Apart from the above.

Gripping Beast's Polemarch range will release their Seleucid cavalry in a month or so and a scythed chariot will follow.

I have some of the old Naismith range – armoured horses, fragile scythes (they just don't make them like they used to) but no feathers.

You may want to email Essex Australia – the Tin Soldier range will extend to the later Successors in a couple of months and Ray should be able to give you an inkling of what their scythed chariot will be like.

I am intrigued what figure you will be using for the Old Man himself? I have a spare Hinchliffe Sasanid Khusru that may do the trick for my chaps. His command group will include his faithful Celt bodyguard Bituitis as well as Hypiscratea (Eureka Amazon).

Cheers

Garry
