A plug here, ever read them? If not I suggest you do then dust off your minis and have a go. Basically aliens invade the earth in 1942 armed with 1990s technology and take on the world. We have used Soviet equipment, with the following modifications, as the alien forces and organization. (1) Whatever the flank armor rating of the vehicle is down grade it by half. (2) The aliens cannot use combined arms rules of any kind. Tank platoons/companies and Mech platoons/companies cannot support each other. If there is no such rule in the set you are using then (shame on you) do not allow the aliens to mix fires from these units into the same target in the same turn. Give it a go and HAVE FUN!!!!!! |

Not to change the topic, but what is the order of this series from Turtledove? I'm looking at getting into them but have no clue where to start. |

How would you handle the use of ginger on the battlefield? |

Ginger works both ways so we made a chart for units under the effects of Ginger 1-4 they must move towards nearest enemy and attack them. Close assault if possible, fire if not. Do not roll again for two turns 5-6 they withdraw away from nearest enemy. Roll again next turn. |

I enjoyed the series, but, like most Turtledove, it bogged down. If his books were 75% as long, cutting out the dross, they would be cracking good. Agree that the plot makes for some interesting gaming ideas. The Garn should work well. |
