Does anybody make these? I'm thinking maybe a barracks, radio station, outpost, village buildings, plantation buildings or anything like these.

Your help/ ideas would be most helpful – thanks.

Airfix plastic model company makes an elevated jungle hut in 1/76 scale.

Frontline makes a number of bunkers and trenches and what-not and they are very nice castings. The aforementioned Airfix Jungle Outpost is readily available for very little money on any number of hobby sites and it is also a great piece.

Also Britannia makes a pair of 20mm Vietnam hooches. I use them for Filipino houses with no problem, in fact I have seen small houses just like them while visiting the Philippines.

I found some pics of the Britannia buildings on my photostream: link

The buildings have a mix of palm-thatch and corrugated iron roofs and a similar mix of walling, The roof is removable.

BTW the Airfix building is also excellent for the Philippines. Many buildings near wet areas are on stilts.

Paperterrain has a range of grass shacks and huts that might do for Pacific islands or SE Asia.

I have actually commissioned the first of a range of Filipino buildings, eventually going from 1762 Intramuros (7YW) to 1940's style buildings (WWII, KW* & VW). I've seen the green (brown?) of the first building and can't wait to get it here to mould and start casting. They will be in 15mm however.

The sculptor is a member here, but will let him decide if he wants to be named or not.

I will let TMP know when I start casting these buildings.

Cheers,

Glynn
