I just wanted to report of possibly the best "Three Musketeers" figures out there. They're part of the newly published board game of the same name. You can check a few pictures on the Board-Game-Geek site: link link link The figures are hard-plastic and incredibly detailed (I'm currently painting them and maybe I could show some pictures in a few days), and I believe that they're sculpted by the Zvezda team. The game contains the four Musketeers, Rochefort, Milady de Winter, Queen Anne, and 14 Cardinal Guards; more than enough figures to stage a skirmish game. The board game is also very nice, and is roughly similar to "Space-Hulk" (!), or to a typical Dungeon-Crawler. Set in the Louvre, one player controls the Musketeers (each with his own special skills), and the other controls the Cardinal Guards (which are spawned like Space-Hulk Genestealers) plus Rochefort and Milady. |

Any idea how tall the figures are? I am very interested! |

I'd be hugely surprised if they were better than the Eureka figures link d'Artagnan looks like Michael York, Athos looks like Oliver Reed, etc |

Thanks Berlichtingen, I sculpted the 40mm figures for Eureka and they are still among my favorite works. However, I recently bought a copy of the game to which Chromit X refers to and it is a fine game. I had a few games with a friend and found it to be most enjoyable but not enough to see if it becomes too predictable. there are some "tweaks" in the back of the rule book to make it more difficult for either or both sides. To answer your question Runs With Scissors; the figures are 33.5mm from the sole of the foot to the eye and are good representations of the protagonists and I am sure would paint up well. I will, of course, be using my 40mm versions :-) Highly recommended to Three Musketeer fans! Mike |

Wow thanks for posting about this. I was unaware of this game. This looks like it would be a blast. The miniatures look very well put together. The game also includes Milady and Rochefort? I'm in! |

Those do look like really nice plastic figures. I have never seen the Eureka ones in person but they look nice also. I have seen the Bluee Moon figures in person and I think they are excellent. link And they come with mounted versions, and you can even get a coach. I do not have any of them, but they look very nice. |

I also own these figures from Redoubt. They also have mounted figures link They are very nice and have a lot of "background" figures link |

Those Redoubt figures you really nice also. what scale are they? |
Camcleod | 05 Feb 2010 10:35 a.m. PST |
Redoubt are about 32mm from heel to eyes. Many have separate heads and bodies, so they vary a bit. |

I have a full set of the Redoubt minis, too, they're very nice. But I've had my eyes on those Eureka 40mms for a while now. And now there's this boardgame which also looks nice. Thanks for the heads-up, Chromit. |
