Got a big box from one of my two casters today!

In it are the sales castings from multiple genres:

For 15mm Sci-Fi:

1) The L-HAC, huge cyborg of the Federal Marines, 33 feet tall, a multimedia kit so big it will be scary even to 25s

For 15mm "They Came from Planet 15":

2) The Lime Goo, tentacled monocular aliens that multiply when you shoot them

3) the Terrors of Clambake Beach, oceanic horrors with ping-pong ball eyes, created when toxic waste is dumped on radioactive material (or vice versa) and arise from the deep to promptly seek out attractive young women

4) Alien Intruders, diabolical imperialistic aliens with hard shells and ray guns, or huge lobster claws -- they have come to harvest our bones for Human broth

5) Munchers, warbeasts of the Alien Intruders: small furry ravenous creatures that will eat everything on a human victim … except the bones

For 15mm Historical:

6) Persian Immortals, circa 480BC, the infantry elites of the great Persian Empire which ruled the east and twice invaded Greece

7) Persian spara shields -- (remade) big wicker shields for Persian sparabara and immortals

All of this stuff is waiting to be painted for display, and will go up for sale as soon as it is!

You tease. Just tell me when I can go ahead and order. :)

PS. I know, I know. Most other guys need an early heads-up to budget for their purchases.

Now that's the kind of box I like to open.

I'll be ordering some of those Planet 15 minis when they're available.

The question is, how many of each?

Khurasan,

Nice to see some Achaemenid Persians about to be released. Have you abandoned the plan of clibanarium doing Sassanids after Late Romans (which is now mostly complete)?

khurasanminiatures04 Feb 2010 6:40 a.m. PST

No, clibinarium didn't make those Persians so they don't affect my production queue with him. He and I have talked about making them this year, but we have a few things to make first -- a large 15mm sci fi line of small crustacean aliens, and 17th century Irish catholic confederates. The chewks (crustaceans) are about 50% done, and the dollies and foot command for the Irish are done.

Delbruck04 Feb 2010 8:09 a.m. PST

So what Achaemenids are about to be released?

Immortals (spara and archers)?
Line infantry (spara and archers)?

If so, as a FOG gamer the next two critical items are:
Persian armored cavalry
Greek Hoplites

Khurasan, I take it by your response that there are no plans for Sassanids in the forseeable future.

khurasanminiatures04 Feb 2010 8:17 a.m. PST

Yes, the cavalry are next, I had a sculptor make horse dollies and I am waiting for the castings of those so the sculptor of the Persians can make them into Persian horses, then make riders for them. I sent the sculpts in November, still waiting for the metal masters from the caster.

As to the Sassanids, depends on how you define foreseeable future. grin

Persian releases -- almost, except the immortals are not "spara and archers," they are all doublearmed.

Sometime this year?

clibinarium04 Feb 2010 6:10 p.m. PST

Though its a while since we chatted about Sassanids I am still enthusiastic about doing them but as Mr.K says we have those two other ranges to get out of the way first. The chewk range has been a bit slow to develop as there's been the odd hitch with the dollies used, but they should be back on track soon I hope, then the Irish shouldn't take too long since we have plenty of dollies for them.
Then its a matter of fitting the Sassanids into both our schedules, so "foreseeable future" is a suitably vague answer since its just so hard to give any sort of accurate prediction on this kind of stuff!

Delbruck09 Feb 2010 1:20 p.m. PST

Khurasan….Your website lists the Elit Ghilman as being remade. Any hint at what you have planned for these?

BTW, your new Arab range is very good. I especially like the foot spearmen. These are the nicest Arab foot I have seen in 15mm. No designer is mentioned on the website, but it would be nice to see this range expanded at some point.

khurasanminiatures09 Feb 2010 2:46 p.m. PST

Yes, arms will be part of the body, and some other options I'm not going to discuss at present because it's too early in the process.

Glad you like the Arabs! Will make eastern looking Arab lancers but no immediate plans to expand them beyond that.
