Having recently purchased an Ertle Keystone Loening Amphibian airplane bank I found it was hard to find out what scale it was. Therefore, I am drawing up a list of all Ertle airplane banks that are the right size for 25-28mm gaming (OK maybe not exactly the right size but who makes 1/56 size airplanes). These planes are sturdier than kits and are either 1/43 or 1/48 in size. Besides showing a picture I also included a little info on the plane.

I have only gotten one posted so far, but more will be following shortly.

You're a man after my own heart. I've been hoping to get that Electra for a while now. Any pics with the planes and some minis?

Thanks

Amalric

I have added six more planes to the list.

I'll get some pictures of my Keystone Loening with miniatures as soon as I can.

OK I put on pictures of my Keystone Loening 4-seat Amphibian next to a Cooplestone, a Pulp Figures, and a Rattrap.

Looks good. Perfect fit for a pulp gaming table.

I also use an Ertl Ford Trimotor. It's less in scale, but looks good. (-:

Woops…sorry. Looks like you can't get into that yahoo page without a password.

I put the Ford trimotor photo into photobucket. Here's a link:

Kahunna, you seaplane looks the perfect size.

Shadow, I agree, the Trimotor is a tad small. Who makes the car that is in the photo with you Trimotor?

Very nice, Kahunna, you have inspired me to bid on an amphibian on ebay. I really love the "TEXACO" version.

@The Shadow – where did you get that trimotor? Is it diecast?

I've added a couple more planes and pictures to my site. A Lockheed Orion and a very nice Franklin Mint Junker F13. The Junkers that Franklin Mint is very fine but they always want a mint for it.

New-Ray also has a line of WW1 bi-planes and WW2 fighters that seem to be the right scape

Yes. It's from ERTL, but I don't know if it's still in production.
