Everyone:

My question has to do with the hats that were worn in 1939. They had a colored band around them. I've seen reenactors with bands in light blue, red and (I think) yellow. Does anyone know what the different colors mean?

I'd like to have the proper colors for my 10mm guys.

Thanks for the help,
Dale Williams

Are you sure? The plain drab cloth version of the rogatywka polowa was what was worn in the field. The stiff-topped, colored-band, leather-peaked version was for dress and walking-out.

I have bought some True North early war Poles and was also interested in getting the colours right.

What colour (Brand and shade) has been used for the main uniform colour?

Allen is correct, there were two types of rogatywka – 'garnizonowa' (dress uniform) and 'polowa' (fatigue uniform). Second one was introduced in 1937.
