I'm currently painting up forces for use as a fictional South American country. kind like of like others making up countries for AK47.

I have some Bren Carriers but I'm not sure whether to us camo on them, or if I do… what scheme to use.

any help would be awesome. pics of the tank are on my blog

I like your cammo scheme. It's simple and effective and it works!

Inquisitor Thaken01 Feb 2010 9:58 a.m. PST

Hey, it's an imaginary county, so do what you want, right? Why not go with the same camo scheme as the tank?

GeoffQRF01 Feb 2010 9:58 a.m. PST

Someone did a couple of helicopters in Leopard and Zebra 'camo' the other day – they looked awesome for AK :-)

jpattern201 Feb 2010 10:08 a.m. PST

I like the striped version.

In general, I like extravagant camo patterns on fictional Third World armor and aircraft.

I figure that, unless they're currently involved in a sootin' war, their primary role is parading in front of El Presidente's palace, so they have plenty of time to apply complicated multi-colored camo schemes that look good passing by in review.

that zebra camo is cool. The Prussian Defense Force will use a simple flat green due to our baltic environment.

that zebra camo is so cool it makes me want to do a african imagi-nation in addition to my european break-away republic.

I like the camo, but not the chrome-plated tracks.

I was sort of hoping they would be the rebels, with bright colors and feathers and stuff. Maybe some graffiti on them.

I do like the striped versions though. Makes it look like they tried to make it look like their own rather than a hand me down from the Brits.

I like the striped camo, it is in keeping with the Banana Republic theme (no offense to Latin TMPers).

I will just go for historicaql schemes so you can double them. Micky mouse camo (black "mouse ears" on green will be perfect. and darker tracks please.

I really, really like the camo too. The bolts on that model are humongous though, who does it?

Arrigo has a good point, but on the other hand, it seems to me more people these days are doing fictious armies like I did in the 70s – my national coolour was HUmbrol gunmetal – yeah, I know, ugggh – and I used the Symbol of Bourdoria from Tintin.

It's made by Battlefront. And yes the rivets seem very big. Still cool though.

thanks for all the tips guys! I was going to paint a brown/black wash over the tracks to dull the metallic shine.

add some brown before the wash, to be quite honest I have seen a lot of tanks, museum ones and operational and tracks evfen well mantained tend to not look metallic and shiny as we painter intend metallic!

Guynemer02 Feb 2010 12:32 a.m. PST

All the Bren gun carriers I've seen were in a plain olive green scheme.

But it's an imaginary nation, and I think the scheme looks really cool. Stick to it!
