If you're interested in terrain for the Pacific theater you can find some here: link The Grey Ghost covered it pretty good on the figure end. |

Old Glory WW2 (Berlin or Bust link )are relatively inexpensive, and someday Wargames Factory will come out with their plastic sets (from the Liberty and Union League link ). As for rules, there's plenty out there. Rob |

You listed the rules and minis I start all serches from, Shakes. I'd add JTFM and Company B to that, then branch out from there
. |

Now lets talk size imho I rate them from biggest to smallest as Victory, Crusader, Black Tree Design, Artizan, The Assault Group, Empress Miniatures, Askari Miniatures, Brigade Games, West Wind,(this is Old Glory (Berlin or Bust)) Battle Honors So You don't want to buy some Victory and par them with West Wind |
peterx | 31 Jan 2010 7:23 p.m. PST |
I'd say size-wise Artizan and Crusader pair up nicely (also the Assault Group, and Black Tree). West Wind and Battle Honors look fine together too. Thanks Grey Ghost for that run down. All the minis look slightly different but OK when painted and on the table. |

Empress and Brigade are the same size as BoltAction – the same sculptor has done these ranges, although some of the newer BoltAction items are done by another sculptor. Artizan and Crusader should be fairly compatible in size. |

Black Tree are really cheap and often very good indeed (the Soviet Characters, oh man
). If that sounds tempting, have a look at the BT threads in the Consumer Relations forum. I got my Soviets three months after I plunked down the rubels for them. Still, the dude with the accordion is wonderful. Some day I shall order again. |

And Army Group North Miniatures is another maker of fine 1/56 scale vehicles to go with 28mm figures. agnminiatures.com (I do the casting, but I'm not an owner.) |

Dont forget that the West Wind Seperate Head minis are actually far larger than the other Berlin or bust range, much closer to Crusader/BAM/BTD/Artizan and very nice too. |

A few more to add to the list. 1st Corps do a small range. Sadly they no longer have the Germans particularly the characters from the Cross of Iron film. A very good set. Mix well with BTD. Chiltern Miniatures have a small range too. Good for basic infantry, but no heavy weapons. Big chunky figures that should fit well with Victory Force. Ebob do a small range of POW's and guards for a Stalag Luft game, but is does include a lovely Opel Blitz truck in 1/56. Finally there is Hour of Glory by Warmacre – again mainly focused on their bunker busting game and the figures are a little crude, but they do some nice character figures. Fit well with BTD. |

Good list of 28mm figures here: link Also, Face of Battle rules. Mike |

28mm figs work with an awful lot of WW2 rules, not just skirmish type games, but for some you may have to adjust ground scales and I wouldn't recommend armour heavy games unless you are both very rich and very strong to carry them around. John54 who posts here has done some stunning Crossfire games in 54mm, so 28mm should be a doddle. |

Is anyone doing 28mm plastic infantry? |
| Guynemer | 02 Feb 2010 12:36 a.m. PST |
Valiant miniatures are in 1/72 plastic. I've never actually seen them, but from what I hear they are closer to 28mm. |
| Stewbags | 02 Feb 2010 5:06 a.m. PST |
Valient minis seem to be made of quite fragile plastic. They are also deffo much smaller than all the lines indicated above and would not mix. |
| Andy ONeill | 02 Feb 2010 9:28 a.m. PST |
It does of course bring to mind the point that 20mm are worth considering. Particularly if you are potentially going to be using tanks. Mind you, valiant are very big for 20mm. |
peterx | 02 Feb 2010 6:25 p.m. PST |
I would only play Valiant with Valiant, as they are around 23mm-24mm and don't match the 20 mm plastic or metal lines. They are pretty nice minis though if you just are playing NW Europe WWII, with Germans, Brits, and Yanks. |
