A new novel on the ECW. I was interested if anyone has read it yet.

Half way through at the moment.

It's by Lindsey Davies who wrote the Falco series of Roman detective novels so this seems to be a bit of a departure.

Uses the mechanism of following a series of characters throughout the war [just got to Naseby so far…], one Royalist, one Parliament and one peasant caught in the middle.

Not sure there's a lot from a wargaming perspective but a good read so far.

Her Falco books are terrific. I'll look for this one.

Not read it yet – only spotted it the other day. Love the Falco books too, so, if it's as good as them…
Got to be better than the last ECW novel I read. Full of terrible anachronisms and written by a fellow re-enactor who should have known better.

I read it an enjoyed. Not much detail on the battles or overall campaigns, but does give a pretty good view of the day to day lives of the participants. Good book, not sure I liked the ending though.
