A new novel on the ECW. I was interested if anyone has read it yet. Mike B

Half way through at the moment. It's by Lindsey Davies who wrote the Falco series of Roman detective novels so this seems to be a bit of a departure. Uses the mechanism of following a series of characters throughout the war [just got to Naseby so far
], one Royalist, one Parliament and one peasant caught in the middle. Not sure there's a lot from a wargaming perspective but a good read so far. |

Her Falco books are terrific. I'll look for this one. |

Not read it yet – only spotted it the other day. Love the Falco books too, so, if it's as good as them
Got to be better than the last ECW novel I read. Full of terrible anachronisms and written by a fellow re-enactor who should have known better. |

I read it an enjoyed. Not much detail on the battles or overall campaigns, but does give a pretty good view of the day to day lives of the participants. Good book, not sure I liked the ending though. |
