I tried purchasing some stuff from the following seller, prior to Christmas, and 47 days later, I am still waiting for almost half of the shipment, and/or refunds for items on auction, but not available:

The seller is gilberthowe1969

I bought the Star Wars 32mm miniatures from him, since his feedback rating of 98% seemed decent enough, and the pricing and low shipping costs were very attractive. Just to be safe, I requested insurance coverage for everything as well, thankfully.

Once I didn't get my stuff, I delved deeper into the seller's rating, and was horrified to see the number of positive and/or neutral feedback ratings for the guy – about 50% of his feedback in the last month is negative, or neutral, due to: items not received, items lost in the mail, refunds for items out of stock, or never delivered, etc.

I got no response from the seller, until I filed the Paypal claims. That seemed to get his attention.

Supposedly, the original items mailed to me were returned to them – an issue with labeling, I'm told, but suspect since it took weeks for that to occur, and only happened after my inquiries, they were never shipped out in the first place. No shipment confirmation could be provided, when I inquired about them.

When I did finally receive some items, I found 44% of them were missing, with no notation about backorders, credits, etc. They claim the other stuff was sent in another box. Makes no sense to me, since there was plenty of room in the box received to include them. As expected, the more expensive items were missing in action.

His rating doesn't include my negative feedback, which I left, but hasn't shown up on eBay for some reason. Perhaps due to the Paypal money hold.

I called eBay's helpdesk about that, but they were of no assistance.

I asked for the eBay person's supervisor, and she refused to connect me, and won't give me the name of the current eBay president, or his/her mailing address.

I am off to look it up on the internet – should just take a few seconds. The letter the eBay president will get will not be positive.

Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed with both the eBay seller, and eBay, itself.

I suggest staying away from this eBay seller.

You don't have to take my word for it, since my feedback hasn't been listed yet. Take a look at the detailed feedback for the guy, for a more objective view, from many others, e.g. the number of positive and neutral ratings for people just thankful they got their money back. It's around 50% for the last month.

His negative rating is rather high in the last month, as a percentage of his recent sales.

The only thing keeping the guy afloat is he has had a lot of sales more than a few months ago, so his rating looks better than it should. Given the most recent feedback in the last few months, with things trending decidedly downward, it appears the situation is getting much worse.

Many items he has listed for sale, for low prices, aren't really available for sale.

I just received confirmation that the Luke's Landspeeder, which I paid for a month ago, and which has been listed as available for sale for the last 47 days, isn't available now. I wonder how mny other people "purchased" it in the interim too?

I bought a USB hub from someone with 99% positive feedback before christmas. I never got anything but I got my money back through paypal. By then he had about 45 bad feedbacks in a row from people like myself who had received no goods and no reply.

To top it all he then gave bad feedback comments to all 40+ people who had claimed their money back as being too quick to raise a dispute, no apology or explanation. He isn't registered as a user anymore so hopefully ebay kicked him out.

The guy provided me with a fake tracking number for the other "replacement items sent" yesterday.

It just gets better and better.

Complaints with eBay, Paypal, the US Postal Inspector, and the FTC have been filed, since the guy is committing wire and mail fraud.

I imagine that might result in some action.

Normally these sellers get punished by Paypal as long as they commit a single mistake.

I finally received some of the other minis I ordered. Many were out of stock, so refunds for those were provided.

I'm still short a Bantha, but otherwise everything has been squared up on the order, otherwise.

I was browsing around and saw this thread…..

As a part-timer eBay seller, I just wanted to say that there has been many times I have mailed off a package with the USPS and the tracking number not show up on their web site until the package arrives to the buyer.

When mailing at the Post Office I have to specifically ask that the tracking number be scanned to make sure that it is logged. It helps that I don't have very things going out.

Not saying that the Star Wars dealer is on the up and up… it doesn't appear so. Just that the USPS tracking can sometimes be misleading.

Thanks Top Gun for the heads up!
