I know some miniature company out there makes a puppchen in 25 or 28mm because I've seen them but I cannot find the site – does anyone know where to find them??? thank you

fitterpete22 Jan 2010 3:06 p.m. PST

I don't know but would also like to find one.

Hear, hear! Quit holding out on us and tell us where to get them!

Funny, they make them in 54mm. I was toying with buying one a few days ago.

Thanks,

John

Why not get some 10mm minis for that?

fitterpete23 Jan 2010 10:27 a.m. PST

Why didn't I think of that? Yeah a 10mm puppchen to go with my 28mm figures ,wow how I could I be so dumb?
Oh you mean switch to 10mm figures yeah that's even better! Does anyone know where I can sell about 800 28mm infantry and 150 or 200 vehicles?

RomanRep23 Jan 2010 10:46 a.m. PST

Okay – I thought I saw them in 25mm or 28mm – maybe I was mistaken and that is why I cannot find them – Do you guys feel the same frustration I do about finding things, i.e., vehicles, arty – boats, etc. in 28mm??? I don't mind builting things from scratch, ocassionally, but its difficult – more and more fig makers are making excellent figures in 28mm, but it is still impossible to find the things mentioned above -

fitterpete23 Jan 2010 11:58 a.m. PST

Yes sir sure do,and now some (insert a scale here)mm guy will come on and tell us why we should be doing it in this or that scale.
I use a lot of corgi and 1/48 model kits(Tamiya,Aurora, and Bandai). At first I thought they were going to be way exspensive but given the price of 1/56 resin I think they are about the same or cheaper, with ebay especially.
Guns and support weapons can be a problem. If your not too picky some of the westwind berlin or bust stuff is nice but the crews are usually meh.
Pak40s,37mm AT guns,75mm IG guns and 88s are plentiful and artizan makes the the 50mm AT gun.Bolt Actions German 105 is a excellent model too.
I have A LOT of stuff in 28mm from various manufacters ,it's about the only way to do it, and honestly the hunt for the figures is part of the reason I like it.

RomanRep24 Jan 2010 10:58 a.m. PST

Yes, fitterpete – I have a lot of 28mm (and 25mm) stuff and its all mixed – corgi, solido, models – I even have some 20mm buildings that unless you look hard you would not know there not the right scale – I too use Berlin or Bust arty – but you mentioned 88s??? the only one I find is at Brigade games for $75 USD – too much for me –
I just bought plastic guns from a kids toy set to use as 155's – and they work!!! –
I love to paint – so I think 28mm is the best for painting to get detail

fitterpete24 Jan 2010 9:03 p.m. PST

Well I guess 88s aren't exactly plentiful.I have 3 of the Black Tree ones.I know everybody is having a lot of trouble getting their stuff from them but here;s something worth a try.Call the US distributer and ask him if he has one in stock,CALL NOT EMAIL then order it from him or on the webstore. Some guys I know have had good luck with this.
The one on Brigades site is a Bolt Action one carried by Warlord Games now.Directly from Warlord ,even with the 20% for postage, will run you $48 USD and change.Brigade still sells stuff from the UK at the old $2.25 USD a pound exchange rate I guess.
I'm not sure of anybody who might carry Bolt Action in the US now but you might give that a try too.If they carry Warlord plastics they might be able to get you BAM.

I think manufacturers need to start doing some of the off the wall stuff. I have been wanting a 28mm 10.5 cm German artillery gun. Yes I know Bolt Action has one but that is on the PAK 40 carriage. I want one on the standard carriage and this gun could be used from early to late war on every front. It was the standard German artillery piece. What irritates me are company's that decide to do guns or artillery and they produce the same thing that everyone else already has out there. I mean how many PAK 3.7 cm and PAK 7.5 cm do you really need?

Andy ONeill25 Jan 2010 7:16 a.m. PST

Odd that really.
I do 20mm and even in that scale there are a stack of pak40 and few pak38.
Mind you, few is a lot better than none.

RomanRep25 Jan 2010 9:34 a.m. PST

Yes – I have had SO MUCH TROUBLE with Black Tree – I got something a year after I had ordered it once!!! Other things take months to get to me – I have NOT tried to call him first, but maybe I will next time I think about ordering from him –
I have so things on back order with Brigade games too – I also agree that company's would do better to make something different then what is already out there – imagine a company making a 155 – at decent price in 28mm!!! Or germans on bicycles in 28mm!!! or a line of horsedrawn wagons for the germans – which was the most common stuff they used throughout the war!!! but they would rather make a Tiger tank or a sandbag MG position -

fitterpete25 Jan 2010 2:58 p.m. PST

Hey it's just like all the other periods ie how many lines of Romans do we need or 1815 Napoleonic French? Then when someone starts a new of the wall line like Poles or even Italiens they make 5 packs (command,2 rifles,SMGs,LMGs )and they think it's a full range.

wonder why this won't go to the top
