Some of you may know that I plan an annual star wars game using the 3 inch hasbro unleashed battle pack figures. Traditionally, for the past three years it has been on December 27. Well it will remain there, but I am considering adding a second day to the festivities. I am planning the 28th to be my 1/18 scale modern warfare day using ambush alley rules. With the figures at around 4 inches and the vehicles to accommodate them, I will use the floor of the room and create buildings from thin plywood covered in spackle and painted like mideast buildings. I have provided a few pdfs with pictures of some of the figs and vehicles in my collection. I look forward to some BIG fun in december of 2010. delta on littlebird and seals with dpv link rangers and delta with dpv link Private Military Contractors --TACSO -(tactical solutions) link delta takes out the taliban and AQs link |

In terms of game play, since the figures are about 4 inches I was thinking of increasing the ranges by 8x the normal listed ranges. (since the ranges are geared to 15mm) Would this seem appropriate or could I get a away with only 4x the normal ranges? thoughts? |

Just as a guess – never having played a game with figures that big – I THINK 4x ranges would probably look and feel about right. Try a little test shoot-out and see! |

Windward, The figs you saw in the delta takes out the taliban and AQs pdf are indiana jones cairo swordsman and thugs and 21st centrury sahara figs (giordano and pitt). I have about 40 of the former and 10 of the latter. I am getting some maurader ak-47,rpg,draganov,and lmgs for them. they will be the bad guys. |

That is just about the coolest wargame set up I've seen in a long time. Put your game up on a table and run it at wargame conventions. What rules are you using? I'll play!! |

mrkprkr Thanks for the compliments. As the previous posts and title indicate, I will be using Ambush Alley Rules. I will test it out at my annual private game I do after christmas each year (a star wars day on Dec 27)(for 2010-adding dec 28 as 1/18 modern day) I envision at minimum an 8 foot x 8 foot playing area (using 4x the distances as Shawn from ambush alley suggests on a 2x2 foot set up according to rules book) With the littlebirds, I may even use the floor and a 16x16 area for a larger scenario. I am going to run a solo sample game of the "contracting trouble" basic scenario to see how the 4x distances feel. I also am ordering some weapons from marauder inc.'s gunnrunner webstore to outfit the AQ and Taliban as well as the Delta and US forces. I am trying to devise a simple setup and storage type of buildings. Maybe some strong Cardstock akin to the old GW epic buildings with a plywood top to hold them when assembled and they could fold flat when dissassembled. I will think of something. I have 11 months before the game! |

I picked up 4 of the 21st century Humvees with some special Ops figures. This will be great for some ranger squad patrols or some spec ops. |
