Are there any retailers who provide the above. I don't need Allied Stars but other markings such as divional, slogan/nickname and registration marks. I've got a friend who wants to play a US armored company in FOW. I've checked Dom's Decals and Skytrex but couldn't find any. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and Salut y'all!

Bruce,
Try I-94 Enterprises, particularly:
i-94enterprises.com/decals_2.htm
i-94enterprises.com/decals_5.htm
link

Those will give some pictures of the decals you're after. The website is not the easiest to use, but they are nice people to deal with.

The Battlefront US decal sheets have a lot of what you're looking for, but i94 have a great range.

Does anyone make 15mm shoulder patches or flag decals?

Too small – a 3" square shoulder patch is 0.75mm. Using a 600 dpi printer (I don't know of anything higher res that can print white) that's 18 pixels square….

It could be bigger than scale a little and just suggestive of the color. I have seen some pretty smale ones for British tank markings. Too bad noone does. It would be a lot easier than tying to paint American flags on airborne.

Best solution is not to try to paint US flags on 15mm Airborne troopers!

Dom knows whereof he speaks; he's considered similar items before. Flags, unit patches, German helmet decals: all are simply impractical in 15mm.

You see people try to paint them in the Flames of War Gallery all the time, and the result is always over the top. For the same reason that most people shouldn't attempt 28mm figures' eyes, these details in 15mm are best merely suggested or simply left off.

Always keep in mind just how much detail you can see on a person on the other side of the room, and don't try to present more than that. If you can't see it, you shouldn't paint it--nor use a transfer for it!

I saw some 101st troopers that had flag on one side and patch on the other painted on that didnt look bad. I did a patch on one 101st figure that wasnt too bad but very tedious.

A lot of the details that look good when the mini is 6 inches from your nose just don't look right at tabletop distances.

I'm experimenting with adding waffenfarbe to some germans, and if you're careful it can look good, but it takes some practice to make it look right.

Unit codes for vehicles are only about 2" tall, so you'd need to raid the model railroad shop for the decals in the appropriate size, and cut+paste them into the correct arrangement. I'd suggest NOT doing so, and just painting a squiggle to suggest the presence. The viewer's eyes will take care of the details.
