The Too Fat Lardies Christmas Magazine has a set of rules in from 1910 called Carpet Campaigns written by a Royal Engineer officer. Has anyone played this or come across it? |

I've come across it in the magazine. Kinda like the idea of it – looks fun but I've not yet played it. I was thinking about getting a pile of HO/OO plastics and reliving my childhood

Apparetly this pre-date HG Wells. Are the rules similar? |

I was under the impression that it was written in 2009, but as a silly jape, is just pretending to be a rival and contemporary to HG Wells' set of rules. |

Having given this a quick skim through, I would have to agree that it is a modern game written in the laid back spirit of those classics that it mirriors. Looks quite entertaining, maybe even for a con game or the like. |
