Just curious about this.. Some in the local group are interested in these rules, but they seem to have had a very difficult time getting releases out. Very few miniatures released over the course of several months last year, and as I understand it the full rules aren't yet available. Does anyone know the skinny on this? We've heard rumors of problems with sculptors, early release issues, etc? Would be curious to see if anybody is in the know, as it seemed like a promising concept. -A. |

I hope they get the kinks worked out – converting those Hot Wheels is kinda fun. I'm looking forward to the release, but interest has sort of shifted to other things (Fallout), and the Warlands forum over on Aberrant's website isn't particularly lively these days. The quick-start rules are really pretty good. |

I'm painting Dark Future minis and prepping some cars, but I was planning on holding out for the complete rulebook. May never happen, at this rate! Looks very cool, so I hope to see some progress soon! |

There was an Interview with the chaps from Aberrant in the last issue of Fictional Reality (#38). They were looking at a 4th Quarter (2009?) release on the Warlands Rules in PDF format
maybe hit a snag after that interview. |

I gave up on it when I realized that Aberrant didn't really have a clue about what might be coming out when for the game. Seriously.. when I asked on their forum if they might just provide a broad outline as to what their plans were for the game (since I'm a retailer and I might care about this stuff when making buying decisions) they deleted my question and moved it to a private forum where they told me that they weren't going to release any information until things were ready to ship. That's another way of saying "We have no idea, because if we did we would tell you." |

Well I've been bugging them on and off the officical forums. They're still in playtesting mode. Most of my group has been in love with the game when it came out but have grown impatient with the slipping schedule. Myself, I have plenty of games to play with and would rather wait until they have a balanced game out. If it turns into anything as balanced as Rezolution I think everyone will be happy. I think it's in their best interest to get the game out and completed. However, it's also in their best interest to make sure the game meets everyone's expectations too. The initial taste of the Warlands Battlebox, and years of playing Rez has set a pretty high expectation for this game. |

Slow release schedule just means I can keep up easier. |

I just hope they do it right. My number 1 problem with the gaming industry right now is that too many games are launched prematurely. Within weeks you have sheets of FAQs and Errata, followed closely by a revised edition. It makes me want to hold off on new systems rather than supporting them from the launch
which is a mind set that is not in the best interest of the manufacturer to promote or foster. |

I guess I can't understand why anyone would release an incomplete product on the market. It's one thing to have a range that you will grow over time, it's quite another to release only three miniatures over the space of a year, and to charge people money for a half finished rulebook (shades of AT-43 there), and then to have the audacity to refuse to answer questions about why it's taking so long. It's not as if 20mm miniatures for the Post-Apocalyptic era are in bountiful supply, nor are rules particularly prevalent, so you can't exactly use their miniatures, combine them with a wealth of others, and play something else until the rules are done. Just my opinion, granted. -A. |

Great set of basic rules, it beats car wars etc, but the wait is killing me, all they got to do is bring the main core rulebook out..!! |

In defense of AT-43, they did NOT release a small bit of their game, and then let it dry up. The initial boxed set came out in December 2006. Yes, it included a stripped down version of the rules, but they were okay, and you could use them with the minis in the box. Within 4 months they had the full rulebook out along with both army books for those first two lines (Therians and UNA), which received bi-monthly (more or less) releases for several years. And they were joined by two additional nationalities (Red Blok and Karman). And those proceeded to get their releases. In just over three years now, they have released what, perhaps 20-25 different products for the first 4 races, a scenario supplement, some terrain items, and have recently added two more races (COGS and ONI), each with a starter army box. That all probably comes to over 110 separate products in 36 months, so an average of over 3 releases per month for three years running. Rackham/AT-43 has done nothing like Aberrant/Warbands. |

Really looking forward to this. I've got my hot wheels cars modified and primered already. Any good rules alternatives in the meantime? speed rally didn't have enough combat emphasis for me

Bought the starter, noticed the hotness cooling off and I kind of lost interest as the game seems drifting in limbo. Might pick up more later but probably pass on the resin vehicles and will be watching the prices on the infantry as well. |
