The ones with arms built onto the body may be easier, but I love the skinny arms on the original guys. andy |

I dunno, I'm in the midst of assembling an infantry company I bought before the built in arms, and it's a pain. Not really difficult, but time consuming when I've got 60+ Quar without arms. It's taking a while, but they do look good. |

You know, for tubby little aliens with scrawny arms and legs, they do have an odd appeal to them |

Space Monkey | 07 Jan 2010 11:09 a.m. PST |
I love the Quar, like something out of Sunpot or Junkwaffel. Their mounts are pretty nifty too. |
khurasanminiatures | 07 Jan 2010 11:13 a.m. PST |
Yeah Josh, all too true on photographing the little guys! My Chewks are 12mm tall and barely up to a man's chest, and the sculptor is very frustrated because he's getting all these nice effects
and he can't show them to me. Sort of, "trust me, they look good
". |

Last rumor i heard for the Quar in 15mm is February. I would half way bet by President's day weekend. That is the date of a large local convention

Yep
certainly looking forward to checking out 15mm Quar
About how big is that base the 15mm Quar are mounted on, in the pics ? A quarter or more like a .50 cent piece ? |
headzombie | 07 Jan 2010 10:30 p.m. PST |
That is a 40mm round base. The 15mm scaled quar are about 11mm tall. |

I'll probably add 15mm Quar to my collection of 15's down the road, but to be honest, I think these guys really need to be gamed with in the larger scale. The detail and uniqueness really pop on the figs. I assembled a unit of the Cav last night and I still can't get over how "real" the mounts look for all their alienness. @Nigerian Oil Minister – yeah, they can be fiddly. Once I get into a rhythm it seems to go pretty quick. I drill out neck and arms on the body with a pin vise, then go back in with the tip of my hobby knife to widen it out a little. Occasionally a little filing of the arm or neck piece before sliding in and voila! I haven't seen much of the single piece torsos yet, I only got 1 pack of them and they were basically all the same. That's my only fear is that for all the ease of assembly, I really hope there's some variation in the single piece minis. I think one of the strengths of the line is that the details are some of the best I've seen on miniatures. the sculptor Aaron Brown has a real talent. with the seperate arms and all the bits you get for the figs, you can pretty easily make each individual look pretty unique. |

I've got money put aside for the 15mm Quar. I will be getting them as soon as they are available. |

Grabula: There was always a single-single-piece model among the multi-parts. That bag of all the same is two per squad of ten. There were as many of the other four bodies that were multi-part as well. They weren't a preview! There are currently seven or eight single-piece crusader basic rhyfler bodies. |
Grabula | 08 Jan 2010 1:37 p.m. PST |
ooooooh lol, guess I didn't realize that! The poses weren't an issue per se as they mix in nicely, just wanted to make sure there were several poses being made. 7 or 8 is way more than I could have expected lol, sounds fantastic. |

I seem to remember seeing these a while ago and thinking they were cool but I didn't have a lot of cash at the time and forgot about it.They are really neat and very different.A little exspensive but wow are they unique! |

Does anyone have a size comparison pic of the 28mm quar next to some other figs? GW,Artizan,Renegade or some other historical figure company? I heard they are supposed to be 22mm to the shoulder I would just like to get a handle on their actual size before I plop down 3 or 4 hundred bucks. Thanks and yes I plan on doing them in a big way if they size up |
headzombie | 10 Jan 2010 12:04 a.m. PST |
I have a bunch of perry's I could shoot them next to. But yes, they are right around 22mm at the shoulder. PM me here or mail me josh at zombiesmith.com |
