I am collecting 1/18th Schleich/Papo/BBI medevals and fantasy. I want to run some Lord of the Rings/fantasy skirmishes at wargame conventions. At cons the general rule is; the prettier the table, the bigger the draw. What 1/18th scale terrain do you use? What works?? What doesn't?? |

I know this might not completely what you had in mind, but in an old Battlegames mag (sorry, forgot number (around 5,6 or 7 maybe) – ask Henry via his website) a guy did a great 54mm project and made terrain in a stylised fashion using foam and dowels etc. May be worth a peek |

mrprkr, I was going to do that once upon a time. Then I let my daughter play with them. Anyhow, they're big enough that paper mache' would work for buildings and such. You could also try G Scale (1/20) model railroad buildings. Look here for bridges, building matrials, water wheel and barrels: dandgdepot.com Look here for plastic building kits: hobbylinc.com/prods/uge.htm I'm sure you know about Schleich's castle set. But, although it's a bit toylike, the Edix / LeToyVan medieval system has great customizable castle and civilian building sets: link We've played with the Edix system with Schleich and Papo knights and they go together well enough for gaming. Papo / BBI figures are a bit more compatible with Edix's scale, however. I hope this helps. Post pics when you have the chance! |
