These days it seems as though I'm using cork for about everything. Check out what I did to avoid warping on this CD base: link link link link I just cut a thin strip of self-adhesive cork and added it to the edge. Hope this helps. Thanks. Dan TMP link link |

How does cork prevent warping when it's such a flexible material in the first place? And why would a CD warp if it's made of plastic – do you apply heat at all? |

Believe it or not . . . I've found that, depending on the amount of PVA (and other glues) you use on the surface of the CD, the center of the CD may either warp up or down slightly. If it warps up than the edges will rise. A lip of self-adhesive cork to the underside of the edges will compensate for when the center of the CD warps up. Dan |

Interesting, I wouldn't think they'd warp like that. I've used CDs for terrain and such but usually spot glued with epoxy of some sort. |

Steve, Hope you don't need it. But, if you do experience warping, the cork might compensate for the elevated edge. Dan |

So I wonder if coating the opposing side with PVA will counteract the warp
similar to what you'd do with cardboard
