"What size are they- --15MM?"

Yes.

Looking really good. The bright weapons stand out well and add some nice contrast.

Very nice figs!

Ambush Alley Games01 Jan 2010 11:23 a.m. PST

Those are great! I've been wondering how I'd paint some of these. I think you figured it all out for me!

Top Gun Ace01 Jan 2010 1:32 p.m. PST

Those look really great!

Thanks for sharing your pic.

What color did you use for the dark skin tone?

I especially like the highlighting on the figs, which brings them to life, and the bright white and orange weapons look superb, even if they don't help with camouflaging the figs.

Superbly done.

Top – the weapons in District 9 had some bright colors like that too, he was probably going for that imo.

Brutal – I like the scenery around them, looks like a shot out of the movie.

Hexxenhammer01 Jan 2010 2:09 p.m. PST

Nice minis and good use of Mechwarrior vehicles for scenery.

BRUTALPAUL01 Jan 2010 2:42 p.m. PST

Thanks for all the nice comments. Like Redroom said I tried to copy the weapons from the movie. The darkskin color is from Vallejo Game color.

wolvermonkey01 Jan 2010 3:53 p.m. PST

Those came out great. Been thinking of getting some. Nice color combos too.

Wow, those are nicely done. What rules will you use for them?

Thanks,

John

I'll use 5150. Not so sure about their stats yet…

Top Gun Ace01 Jan 2010 5:04 p.m. PST

Thanks for the info.

Can't blame you, the white and orange weapons do look striking.

I only saw the movie once, so am unclear whether that is a prawn color scheme, or a human one to warn people they are dangerous.

Given that some of the weapons don't seem to have fallen into human hands before, but still have that scheme, I suspect it is a prawn derivation.

Redroom01 Jan 2010 8:51 p.m. PST

Interesting thought on color scheme used by the prawn as they did not seem to be into the bright colors a lot of their weapons had.

Here is a link where I got the prawn style from:

Really strange that these aliens have so stylish weapons. On the conceptart you can see that even their ships use that design.
