How well would Black Hat 15mm mix with Old Glory 15mm? |

I mix their ancients and medievals together just fine. Scale and sculpting styles differ but are pretty close. I have not seen either company's ECW stuff, but they seem pretty consistent between ranges. Black Hat has more internal variation than OG. Essex mounted works well with these two lines as well. The foot are a bit shorter. |

I'm doing the war up in Scotland. I like the Old Glory figures, but Black Hat looks like they do some nice looking Irish and OG doesn't have the Irish. |

I would not hesitate to order them. Some of the BH sculpts are a bit basic and heavy – I am thinking of their Dark Ages and Feudals. These I think are older sculpts and are old school, but serve the purpose quite well. Some of their lines are as finely detailed as anybody's – I am thinking here of their Huns, Aztecs and Maya, etc. Interestingly, the older ones are more creative more often, and offer some very different and refreshing interpretations of bread and butter troop types. I think you will be pleased with them. I have bought from within four of their ranges, and have only a couple of poses that I felt were mediocre andmildly disappointing, though still serviceable. Otherwise they range from satisfactory to splendid. I am more likely to find culls in pack of OG because of weird contorted poses, than in the BH that I have gotten. |

Just going on the basis of the the command stand that BH depicts, these look like the older style of sculpts. You will find them to be robust, simple sculpts, perhaps with flashing but easy to clean and easy to paint. Poses will be more restrained than OG (a benefit in my book), but size and proportion will be comparable, with OG just a touch bulkier. Basically though, fully compatible. |

I would caution anyone from assuming one Black Hat range is similar to another. Each ranges was sculpted by one sculptor but different ranges had different sculptors. I agree with Konkurkur about the style of the ECW sculpts. If you are US based you can order from me with confidence – if you get them and don't like them I have a full return policy. Just return them in new condition in the original packaging and get a full refund. Mark "Extra Crispy" Severin Owner, Scale Creep Miniatures ScaleCreep.com FlagshipGames.com DeepFriedHappyMice.com |

Mark, Order placed
hope you'll be restocking
the rules I'm using have a scale of one 4 figure stand equals 25 men, so I'm gonna need more Irish :) |
