You would think this would be easy to Google, but it isn't (for me, anyway). What online dealers carry the rules sets Command Decision III and Blitzkrieg Commander? |

If you want someone that carries both
not sure. But you can get BKC here: link |

If you're US based, drop me an e-mail and I can get both for you. I expect Blitzkrieg Commander II by early January and could have CDIII for you by then as well. mark@scalecreep.com Mark "Extra Crispy" Severin Owner, Scale Creep Miniatures ScaleCreep.com FlagshipGames.com DeepFriedHappyMice.com |

Did you want Command Decision III? The current version is Command Decision Test of Battle (CDIV). Its a major improvement over CD III, slightly simpler and a lot quicker. Publishers website at : testofbattle.com/store/index.php |

BKC II is new and just in print of course, but I believe CD III is OOP, the current version being CD:ToB. And I will certainly vouch for the quality of Scale Creep's service if you want a US vendor for both. |

Thanks for the tips, all. "The current version is Command Decision Test of Battle (CDIV). Its a major improvement over CD III, slightly simpler and a lot quicker." I have really tried to like CDIV, but alas, I have slowly come to the conclusion that it's a step backwards. While some rules are better, the complete standardisation of the range bands, and the deterministic spotting, is for my tastes too simplistic. Which is of course a shame, since I don't have my CDIII rules anymore and hence am looking to buy a copy (again). I suppose I'm also put off a bit by the fourth edition of a rules, one wishes they could get it right by the first three versions (!). Anyhow, I'll send an email to Mark, let's hope he can get me a copy of the OOP CDIII. |

and what's the story with BKC II? Is it better than BKC, or just different? I guess, having just gone down the "constantly new versions of rules" with CD, I'd like a little reassurance before diving into BKC. Don't want to go down that route again. And is the level of play (i.e., a tank figure = platoon) about the same for BKC, if I am used to CD TO&E? Thanks again

and what's the story with BKC II? " OK, this is tentative since it was really just released and only a handful of people have copies, but Pete abandoned plans to do a major re-work and has done an update that brings it mostly in line with CWC (I have been playing BKC with CWC rules for a while, it is CWC fundamentally the same game with better explanations) and ironed out the whole "*" and "#" nuisance by separating the anti-tank and anti-personnel values for weapons systems. I have seen mention of other nuances like a "low profile" modifier that may give a hetzer a little more character than it had before, cavalry looks like it will a bit different, but I am not expecting much of a change. It is the same game, updated. Pete is moving on with new projects, but BKC deserved to be brought up to date with the rest of the system. I do not expect it to move much from this. Stand is platoon, although CD TOEs require some interpretation because the command and control rules are so different. It is hardly complicated, and I use the CD organizations when I want to do TOE-based situations. From what I have read, CD-IV was a bit traumatic for those who loved CD-III. I played CD-IV and liked it, but I think CD-III might have driven me nuts. |
