Hi everyone,

(This post is also in the exchange section of TMP)

I've got 92 unpainted AB French Napoleonic infantry, that I'd like to swap for one brand new box of Perry plastic British Napoleonic infantry.

This would make the AB figures you'd get from me (the equivalent of) just one third of their brand new price!!

The AB figures are all in first class / mint condition, with all bayonets, etc present, and as ever with AB, are beautifully proportioned human beings!

The figures themselves are IG65 Young Guard (1814 uniform) marching. IMHO they're identical to the so-called 1812 Bardin uniform for Line Infantry, which was previously one of the big gaps in the AB range.

Have a look on the Fighting 15s website:

link

There are:

78 March attack figures
12 Command figures, including 2 drummers, 2 sappers, 5 dismounted officers, 2 eagle bearers and 2 sergeants, plus one mounted officer / colonel.

I live in Warwickshire, England, so a UK posting destination would be very much preferred.

Many thanks for considering the deal,

Cheers, Ian

They`re identical to 1812 Bardin Regulations ?
Not the shako plate for starters ;)

Umm, this isn't the correct forum for this. What's more, you're supposed to be supporting member to post this sort of thing.

Tassie24 Dec 2009 9:24 a.m. PST

Not correct ~ I may post for exchanges as a basic member.

You may have a point about which board it's on.

Merry Christmas to you.

I have a box of said Brits which are new and untouched. If you still want to swap then just send me your details in a pm and we can sort it out. I'm in the UK as well.

Cheers

You tell'um Tassie. I love the "Merry Christmas to you" part!

Good work standing up for yourself Tassie – personally I think the discussion forum is a great place to discuss swaps etc as it is more likely you'll get a fair and honest transaction. Just wait for the mice to roar over that comment!!

However mate, I think you're doing yourself out of a bit of dough. You've got about a $au90 worth of AB's, plus the cost of posting them OS in exchange for a box of plastics that if you shop around you can pick up for about $au40. If you check ebay UK there is often a retail seller who offers his Perry plastics at 13.50 GBP post free world wide. That way you could get your Perry's for a good price, pop your AB's on ebay and walk away with some coin to put towards another purchase.

Cheers,

JD

Of course if everyone were to do this then there would be no point in having the exchange board, also people using the marketplace board might then feel the same and to avoid the resultant chaos someone might be inclined to hit the complain button.

Should point out that topics like this drop off the front page in 4 days whereas exchange topics are on the front page for a month.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Well, I've now happily agreed an exchange!

Cheers, Ian
