Well it's xmas at last, all the orders have been placed, received and are sitting around the tree.

I guess we're all going to be off work fairly soon, or most of us at least, technically there is still about another 8 hours of work for me before I am officialy clock 'off' at 7a.m tomorrow.

So here is my chance to say a big THANK YOU to all the companies that I bought from in 2009 that really stood out from the crowd.

1) Renegade – For me the company that reshaped the 28mm landscape when it showed you can do quality metal sculpts for 50p($.80) per figure.
After they introduced their new pricing in January and then ended the year announcing a new range you can't say anymore that it's economics that prevents other companies selling at these prices.
Lets face it, if a few more companies could match their pricing we wouldn't really need plastics would we?
Take a bow guys.

2) Miniature Design Studios – A new company producing 28mm metals and another company that believes in the 50p mini!
There Berbers and Saxons are superb. You just have to buy something from them.

3) Caliver – Great service, great prices and free postage worldwide.
I just finished unpacking all my xmas deliveries from them, not only in a sturdy foam filled box but each package inside had been opened and given extra bubble wrapping to ensure it arrived intact!
All that care and attention, they always arrive the quickest, and I don't pay a thing for it.

4) Victrix – Plastic Napoleonic's pure and simple, no fuss, no great hullabaloo, no dramas, just great work.
Like everyone I guess, I look forward to what 2010 will bring from them, the queue for the Cacadores starts here!
Just one thing guys, don't be so worried about the Perry's, your stuff stands up against anything they do.

5) Perry Miniatures – What can you say that someone hasn't already said and embarrassingly drooled over like a 2 year old.
French Heavy Cavalry sit under the tree as I write.
There is a certain order for the Dragoons and Hussars whenever they are ready.

6) Warlord Games – My only 'beef' with WG has been about their pricing, their figures are second to none.
Then they go and introduce their army packs at 50% off, too good an offer to turn down and I didn't!
So now I am aiming to play Romans vs. Celts using Impetus fairly soon.

So thanks for a great year, kudos to you all!

Ok so who's is on your 'thank you list'…

It's not a poll, it's not a popularity contest, there are no prizes for who gets mentioned most.

Just a chance to give your own personal 'Kudos' where it's due.

In addition to a few on your list I'd like to add a big thank you to Wargames Factory. I have at least one of every pack they have produced so far and many packs of the Anglo-Zulu war figs as well as quite a few of the numidians and a bunch of Romans.

The company has come a long way in introducing very affordable, quality miniatures to the market. They are pioneering a new way of sculpting and of making plastic figures and for that they should be commended.

To add to one of your mentions, I'd like to say thanks to Warlord Games as well for their spectacular Black Powder rules. It has been a LONG time since I've been as excited about a ruleset.

Wow! Positive waves! I love it!

In no particular order, I'd like to thank the following for service "above and beyond":

1) Raiden Miniatures – Great planes for low prices. Can't beat their quality.

2) I-94 Enterprises – Lead Pimp Extraordinaire. Fantastic service and great decals.

3) Dom's Decals – Apologizes for "being slow", yet he ships so quickly I get his stuff (from the U.K. to California) quicker than I get stuff from some of the "big" retailers here in the U.S. He could give lessons… and he provides a vast range of quality decals.

4) Scale Specialties – Call them in the morning, stuff gets shipped that day. Also provides great specialized decals for my air armadas.

5) Scale Creep – Another one where you call in the morning and it gets shipped that day.

6) Valiant Enterprises – Still scratching my Napoleonic Naval itch after all these years.

7) Books From CA. – A used bookseller in Simi Valley, CA., they seem to have a knack for coming up with hard to find historical books at the lowest prices around. I've bought quite a few from them off eBay and Abebooks this year.

There have been some others, but these 7 have received the majority of my hobby $$$ this year. Thanks guys!
