Slightly nervous about posting this here after the recent debates about what colour Orcs should be…

But what the heck I'll admit it – I like them green! I also like other hues but for my old citadel Orc army its got to be green!

Just started another project(!?) – to renovate the aforeside Orc army that is lying in bits in boxes with far too much paint slapped on by my teenage hand! Think this will run alongside my Wood Elf project…

When I clicked on this link, I was for some reason expecting a discussion on who makes geriatric orc figures.

But this is better. Nice work. I really enjoyed your RT pics as well.

Ditto Hroth I was expecting someone asking for eldery orc figs. Lol

Cool, always nice to see old minis getting new attention.
I've thought of doing the same with some of my old Grenadier orcs… again, for SOB&H. Their current paint jobs are pretty sad.

I too was kind of interested in finding out who makes elderly orcs…Oh well.

I like those old savage orcs. Nice job.

Farstar23 Dec 2009 11:57 a.m. PST

I like the old Savage Orcs better than the more recent (and theoretically current) "Cave orks".

Sorry for the false advertising folks!
Now that you mention it geriatric orcs sound like a good idea – who else looks after the village when the boyz have gone to war – Dad's Army anyone?!

Nobody looks after the village when the orcs go to war. No self respecting orc would miss a fight.

Excellent! I love those old orcs. I have an entire army of Citadel's original orcs that I restored and painted (well, I'm really only halfway done). I should get some good photos of them on my blog.

I think green orcs are fun. That's what color we paint ours.

It is your fault i now have a couple of hundred old pre-slotta GW orcs and Gobbos i ebayed in a couple of years ago, stripped the paint off and then put them away without starting painting them. one day soon this horde will re-surface to fight again!!!

As a side note i have quite a few doubles and would be interested in some swappage action if anyone else is interested.

Stewbags:

It's a dangerous business. I have an old preslotta dwarf army that is also boxed away in the closet and awaiting basing and the brush. My orc army has been 5-6 years in the making. If I ever get my collection organized, I'll drop you a line about trades.

Always had a soft spot for Kev Adams' gobbos/orcs but my first love was always the perry twins work from prior to his arrival.

Once my evening painting sessions get rolling i will get a few painted up so you can have a look.

Yeah the Perry minis look fantastic – looking forward to seeing your stuff!

Here's another bigger and uglier member of the band…
