I'm wanting some light vehicles for my Imperial Guard squads but I'd like each squad to be different and have vehicles that fit their individual "styles".

For my Cadians, I'm planning on converting some Space Marine Land Speeders into Buggies. For Bikes, they'll be getting standard Space Marine bikes. As a transport, each squad gets a Rhino.

For my Catachans, I'll de-Orking some old GorkaMorka Buggies and Trukks. For Bikes, I'll be using Space Marine Scout Bikes but with the forks, handle bars, and front tire from Ork War Traks. I found a guide and template for turning an 40K Ork Trukk into an IG Truck similar to the old US Duece-and-a-Half. This will be the Catachans' transport.

The Steel Legion will get a Chimera as a transport and with some tracks from the Ork Battle Wagon, I'll try turning a second "Duece-and-a-half" into a half-track for the Tallarn. However, I'm at a loss for what to use as buggies and bikes either of them.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Go hit up your local toy stores and the toy aisles in department stores for toy plastic ATVs, jeeps, etc., that are close enough to scale for your needs. Just add bits, crew, and a new paint job and yer good to go.evil grin

Hope this helps!

I have seen Tamiya's 1/48 Kettenkrad turned into a nice little bike for 40k… google-fu may find it for you?

I think it's on this thread *somewhere*!

I've got three of those Quads. I wonder if Tallarn Rough Riders would work on them.

The Old Crow wheeled vehicles are the perfect size for 2 or 3 man scout vehicles, or fast attack vehicles:

I use the Trojan, Slingshot, and outrider as Adeptus Arbites
response cars.

The Orks call it a Wartrak.

For a truly small scout/recon vehicle, I'd probably convert a WWII Soviet BA-64.

For something a little more general purpose, I'd look at doing horribly 40k things to a Kubelwagen.

You could also try some of the Tamiya German trucks, they do a Steyr and Krupp in 1/48.

The thing about bikes is finding someone to ride them…
