Ok, so I buy two boxes of the Scottish Covenanters. There are 3 sprues with 13 men each and 4 metal command figures. However what is with the headgear? Per sprue I get 2 morions, 5 floopy wide brimmed hats, 1 kepi, 3 skull cap knitted hats, some furry thing and exactly 1 scotch bonnet! The photos on the box shows everyone wearing the typical bonnet. I get three in the box. Oh ya, the metal figures don't have any hats either. Am I missing something? Ralph |

A kepi? I suggest you have another look. I assume that someone at Warlord may have their Bishop's Wars and Civil Wars mixed up, but the Scots bonnet was perhaps not quite as ubiquitous as wargamers like to believe either. Or, Warlord are using the same head sprues for all ECW foot

I believe there are supposed to be metal bonnets in the boxes. link Captain, Ensign, Sergeant & Musician (in metal), and enough Bonnets to equip the entire unit. I would get in touch with Warlord if there weren't any. |

A "Scotch" bonnet? – must be what I wear when I am drinking "God's" water ;-) |

Colonials tend to get Scotch and Scots mixed up. I find it rather endearing, at least they're attempting to join in instead of dubbing all of the inhabitants of the British Isles 'English' |

Hi Ralph, Sorry, looks like you've received a mispacked box – you should have a bag full of metal scots bonnets and the mnetal command models
Drop us a line at info@warlordgames.co.uk and we'll take care of things for you. Cheers, Paul Sawyer warlordgames.co.uk |

They're not mixed up, just a little behind the times. |

@Connard It looks close enough to a kepi that I know it's not a bonnet. @Connard and AppleMak I actually do usually pay attention to the differences between Scotch and Scots. Especially when some people knickers tend to twist rather easily. My apologies to those I've offended, I'll toast you with some Cardhu later. @Paul I seem to have everything else, including the metal figures. Thank-you, I will drop you a line. Ralph |

The "kepi" is probably the Montero cap that is included. Fairly similar looking at this scale, so it's not unreasonable to refer to it as a "kepi". |

Now we are talking curries
nowt wrong with scotch bonnets for fire. |

crhkrebs No offence taken, just a little poking fun. Have a good New Year (I know I will) :-0 |

Montero, the cap designed for men who like to look like ducks |

Warlord Games have assured me that the bonnets are on their way across the pond. Excellent support, thanks guys. I love adding scotch bonnets to my soups and curries too. But they should more accurately be called Scots bonnets also don't you think? Ralph |

if it's the same sprue in their other sets, the "kepi" is a montero cap. |

Just got a set of these myself. Mine did have bonnets, though not enough to fit each and every one of the lads. The handout is nicely done and explains that the Officers would have prob'ly worn hats. One thing I would have liked to see in the set was a scematic on how the unit would have been lined up. The pikes in particular are a pain to get into formation (is this historically correct, you may ask?). Would the Sergeant with his halberd be in the back rank, ready to thwack a malcontent? The printed flags are a nice touch. For King, Covenant and Colleen
