Hi,

If anyone interested in, I've just posted a couple of threads showing some War of the Spanish Succession 1/72nd scale plastic figures using Zvezda and BUM miniatures alongside.

First, a battalion of the Quércy Regiment. Most most the minis are Zvezda's --with the exception of the grenadiers, that are BUM's. True, these are not French grenadiers' forage caps, but Spanish ones instead… They have been posted at my personal painting blog, link

Secondly, a stand of Catalan "Seguici de prohoms" (=Outstanding men retinue), an 'ad-hoc' small unit formed by town councillors and noblemen, acting as an escort for the Colonel Flag of the Barcelona Militia. They've been posted at my "Desperta Ferro! Publishing" blog: link . As you can see, horses are from Zvezda's Swedish cavalry, while cavalrymen are from BUM.

All these are part of a first batch of minis we're painting to start playtesting a projected, unusual "grand format" scenario ( link ), which will be accompanied by a new "Desperta Ferro! Publishing" booklet, following our successful Catalonia Stands Alone: 1713-1714 the Catalans' War ( link ).

BTW, the flag shown at the Quércy article is not intended to be Quércy's own, but to identify a general's stand. It has been printed with my home PC printer from a flagsheet which will be included in that upcoming booklet.

In a few days, I'll be posting some pictures else --this time, Catalan Infantry, Artillery and another Flag.

Very nice work, and I'm also pleased to see you doing well with the paper buildings part of your project.

Perhaps you could make a photographic essay comparing the new BUM figures with the Zvezda ones for size and sculpting style?

True, andygamer. Such a photographic work would be really useful for people interested in these miniatures ranges. As soon as I have a little spare time, I'll be doing it.

Thanks for your comments.

Andygamer: I've just posted another set of pictures on my painting blog. Maybe these help a little to comparing BUM & Zvezda figures: link
