OK, so here are the first of a hoard of staggering undead constructed from various platic figure bits. I decided to just shoot them unprimed as I am lazy.

But it gives you an idea of the grasping and lurching animation possible. The problem is a great lack of left arms of all thgins… they are always closed hands to hold shields or molded onto the body or something.

Those look pretty sharp. Are they 1/72d?

Looks like Wargames Factory.

It does! (although I think I see one non-WF head in there maybe?) Nice work!

Will the legionaries soon be slaughtering these en masse?

;-)

All the best,
Tony

Very nice. Looking forward to the finished project. I love zombies in all their forms, ancient all the way to futuristic.

Well the whole idea was to get that right type of animation "Action Zombie Heads" and "Action Zombie Arms" (TM of GhastlyCo) was a good try, but there are issues with making them right in metal (which I figured out once I ran out of money).

The thing with the plastics, and they are a kitbash of WF and some WL plastics, is the plastic melting cement is somewhat forgiveable in terms of adjusting arms. I'm goig to have to work at the WL romans to make the zeds in segmatum (due to the shoulder armor), but this was just a test for a big hoard of generic ancients.

Depending, I may drill a hole or two in some, so that a sword or pilum can be inserted and sticking out. I also need to work on a few of them holding onto an item limply in their hand (like a drowning men grasping a straw) as science has shown that if they reenimate holding something, they tend to think they are supposed to and drag it along. I have plans for one Roman dragging a banner behind him, but who has time.

I did not use the WF Romans as A. Segmatum rules and B. I am in the camp where the Mortus Ambulai sickness did not strike until the end of the Republic- which some felt was a curse from the Gods. At some point I probably will try adding in some of their bits – and had planned on some viking bits, but my order from them has not shown up yet (and I live 30 minutes away!) Ahem.
