What do folks recommend for medieval skirmish rules? Looking for ones containing rules for use of both foot and mounted soldiers, siege weapons, and possibly naval combat as well. Thanks, MD |

You might want to check out the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, as there are some very decent Medieval skirmish variants available through the Yahoo LotR user group. It has everything you are looking for. Also, check out Ebobs Rebellion through the Freewargamesrules.com website. A very cool medieval skirmish game, and I believe there is a siege engine add-on available. |

Two Hour Wargames has a free set here – link – which is a generic pre-gunpowder set (probably doesn't include s9iege rules though. If you like that you could look at Montjoie from the same source which IIRC has a siege campaign. |

I use BattleLust with my Cry Havoc figures and scenarios, but I made some change to speed up the game .for the Siege rules I use Cry Havoc's ones :) Montjoie from Two Hour Wargames is a good choice too. |

It would be worth checking out "Song of Blades and Heroes" from Ganesha Games. Although written to include fantasy, they are great fun for Medieval skirmishes. |

Retinue. The original and the maybe not quite best link |
