I've been wanting to try Mongoose Traveller for over a year now. A few months ago, I had the bright idea that I could run the Mission Arcturus adventure in 15mm, using a bunch of Ground Zero Games minis as the humans, and a couple old
I think they are 25mm Grenadier
battlesuits as combat walkers. The only think lacking in my plan were Kafers. That is, of course, until GZG came out with their Crusties! I got to painting right away, and had some friends over for a day-long gaming session for my birthday. I forgot to take pics of the action, but I did take pics of the minis. Since I was pressed for time, not all of these figures are as detailed as I would have liked. I like the 'advisor' figures – just what you need pointing things out Try a wash over the faces – it quickly brings out the details without adding hours to the time. Just be careful that both eyes are present – I ended up with a one-eyed figure! Andrew blog.kings-sleep.me.uk |

Thanks for sharing pics of your stuff! A nice "dip" would bring out a lot of detail with little work as well. Mongo |

If I had any more time I would have done a wash. In the final days before the game I was able to get a wash on the Crusties to bring out their eye sockets, but I was under the gun to get an entire rpg adventure converted from the GDW's 2300AD system to Mongoose's Traveller. All the other minis, including the last minute civvies, just got a basic paint job. Fun thing is, now that the adventure is done, I have time I can go back and add some details. |

I've been thinking of putting together a collection of GZG 15mm for Traveller/2300AD RPG purposes. (I've got plenty for wargaming.) For 2300AD combat walkers I was going to use 25mm FASA Elemental Troopers and EM4 Power Armor Troopers. I was going to get Crusties anyway, but hadn't considered using them for Kafer. |

That illustration always bugged me. From the Kafer Sourcebook, page 12, "The arrangement of their carapace gives them a stooped appearance. An indication of their size can be gained from the realization that the average Kafer *still* stands two meters tall, even through it appears to be hunched over." |

Nice work dude! 2300AD was always a favourite setting of mine. |

Thanks. I've always been a fan of 2300AD too. Now, I've got to find me something that will work as Sung. Maybe the old Citadel droyne figures that RAFM is making again? |

I'm working on a Savage worlds version of this exact same scenario. We are planning on running it with Fantasy Grounds, but I love the idea of 15mm figures
may have to steal it, though I generally am a 6mm man. |
